Legendary creator Bill Sienkiewicz sat down in the Tiki room for CBR TV and talked about his career. Some interesting stuff
Pt. 1 on Elektra and Moon Knight...
Pt. 2 on inking other artists...
Pt. 3 on wanting to have inked Kirby, inking Neal Adams and other inking thoughts...
I love getting this type of stuff from creators. It is interesting to see how Bill approached his craft and what he takes from each thing he does as well.

Have always loved his run on Moon Knight with Moench.
To this day no one has been able to draw the character like Sienkiewicz.
And no one has been able to write him like Moench, for that matter.
Baffles my mind how such a complex character peaked in the early 80's and has basically been regulated to C-list ever since.
There's tons of potential there just based on the multiple personalities alone.

He was such a game-changer when he arrived at Marvel.
My favorite work of his is the Daredevil Love & War GN with Miller. An unsung masterpiece.

One tidbit that's not directly related to his art - he grew up pronouncing his name "Sink-eh-witz" like most Americans would. Early in his comics career, letterer Tom Orzechowski taught him the original Polish pronunciation, "sin-Kay-vich", and he's used that ever since.

I consider him an artistic god, and here he turns out to be a modest and thoroughly great guy too!
Sienkiewicz rules!!!

I never knew what the man looks like. That's another great thing about the Internerd.
It's surprising to me to hear him more attached to Elektra as a character than Moon Knight, and I wholeheartedly agree with Warmonger that no one else has come close to what Moench & Sienkiewicz did with the character.
As great a penciler as he is, I do undoubtedly feel he's on of the best inkers in the business too.
I suspected that DC put him on as Aparo's inker to help out, but the two styles work wonderfully together, just like John Paul Leon and Denys Cowan.
Never knew he inked Adams and found it fascinating and surprising when he said he'd like to ink some of the cartoonists' work like Dik Browne or Mort Walker.
Also agree with String that Daredevil : Love & War is a masterpiece that should get oodles more attention. That's practically a perfect graphic novel IMO.
Sienkiewicz inking JR Jr ? That sounds awesome. Any DC editors out there listening ?

That was a great comic, AGS, and when I came across an edition of Melville's novel with a Sienkiewicz cover ! couldn't resist either. The man really pushed the boudaries back when fans would probably have expected him to just do the same thing over and over. A true artist!

Sieniewicz at work...
doing a convention sketch of Elektra circa 2013...
I am simply blown away at the process he uses. It's fricking amazing, so instinctual.

I loved the Part 2 of where he learned how to inked comic pages and that's so fascinating to hear him talk about it. He is a gifted artist and I loved his work on Daredevil.

I'm reading the Essential Moon Knight volumes and this guy's work is awesome. I was never a big fan of Moon Knight(the 1st incarnation), but these volumes have shown me the power of his art. I doubt there is anyone out there that can top his version of Moon Knight.

Great topic. B. Sienkiewicz's run on MK is one of my top five favorite artist runs on a comic series. Amazing & powerful art, and great stories as well. I'm enjoying the Epic volumes reprinting this series, and thought the Essentials were also great - BS's art looks just as good in b&w as it does in color.
His work on Elektra: Assasin and New Mutants was also amazing. I didn't read either of these series until long after the '80's, however.
