I think Pre-New 52 Superman is about the only character that is still appearing.
But don't hold me to that, I'm also incredibly behind in my reading.

What's sad is a lot of people expected these old characters to stick around beyond the event and they didn't

What's sad is a lot of people expected these old characters to stick around beyond the event and they didn't I would have liked to see a few more minis but the sales for the event itself and the mini's that came with it just weren't strong enough so I wasn't expecting much though I was hoping for a Captain Marvel book as I loved both his Convergence mini and his issue of Multiversity.

I'm hoping that we'll see more of these characters and concepts as part of the Rebirth campaign.

My wife says I'm always overly optimistic, but it only makes sense to me that a campaign like Rebirth would be perfect to pull in elements, and characters, we've seen in the past, but maybe not the last 4 or 5 years with the New 52.
I want the Freedom Fighters and Shazam ! back

No, I love Shazam in the Justice League.
I just hope we get a Shazam comic back sooner than later.
He's long overdue IMO.

He is indeed, and it confuses me as the collected edition of the Shazam back ups from Justice League sold well, and both the Shazam issue of Multiversity and Convergance did well both critically and sales wise. You'd think with those kinds of indicators they'd be tripping over themselves to get a book out there.

I've thought the exact same thing.
Loves me the real Captain Marvel, but the current Johns/Frank Shazam ! is awesome too, in a more contemporary way.
Rebirth is a 2 year plan, so maybe we'll see them put one in to build up material for when the Shazam movie is released.

The only thing I can think of is that Geoff Johns has reserved the Shazam! title for himself and he hasn't had the time to do it yet.
