Let's talk comics techniques. Stuff only the medium can do. I have a running catalog here, and I'd love to see some examples you just mark out for.

Any list whose scope manages to encapsulate both Winsor McCay and J.H. Williams III is a list worth reading.

I feel I actually overloaded the list with the flashy techniques instead of the more subtle ones, unfortunately. (Then again, if I caught the subtle ones, maybe they... wouldn't have been so subtle?)
(Travis has a whole lot more of this, but internet's just kind of knocked out where he is.)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on Bernard Krigstein.

If I were a woman, and the EC art staff was a man, I would want to have its babies.

Finally finished reading through the entire list. This Frank King strip is one of the coolest things I've ever seen done with the medium. I makes me want to bust out my water colors and compass.

That Frank King strip is my favorite Sunday page from the pre-Golden Age of comics. It's just beautiful.
The fall strips of his are the best, too.
