Just curious on what you and your local comic shop (or shops) are doing....

My LCS will probably have a local artist sketching there, and some kind of sale. The store gets really crowded and cramped on FCBD, so I usually don't spend much time in there.

My LCS usually has enough FCB so that all their regulars can get whatever they want. As every year, my only must have is the Dark Horse book, as it will contain some exclusive Mignolaverse stories (this year by Corben!!!).

I haven't been to a FCBD in at least 5 years, I think.
Always end up working that day for one reason or another.

The LCS where I have my pull list isn't doing anything special for FCBD. I'll be taking my girls so they can grab a few things, and I will probably get the Civil War II tie-in, the Doctor Who and Serenity books.
One of the other LCS chains in town is having a 15% off sale for all back issues as well as 50% of all $1 books, but I won't have any time to get to any of their locations due to prior commitments for the day (including a dinner and movie date for me and my wife tomorrow night).

I never get to participate really because of my schedule. Bugs me. My shop usually has a nice sale. Every once in a while I'm able to take advantage of that at least a little, if/when I go later in the day, but I'm never able to get any of the freebies I mightve had an interest in. Not a major loss though.

My LCS usually has enough FCB so that all their regulars can get whatever they want. Same here, mostly. I still have to get them from the communal free book table, so I feel the need to be subtle so the non-regulars grabbing 2 (my LCS limit) won't notice. |

My LCBS has sales and they are being kind enough to pull some of the free comics for me. I work today and will get there at 5 at the least. For me, I got together a long box of comics and am donating it to the local library to give out. The library participates in FCBD.

Like dupersuper - I get two free comics today and I will get them later on this year when Batman 66 Meets Steed and Mrs Peel in July. And Wonder Woman 77 at the same time. I'm on a preferred list meaning that I can get my freebies anytime I want. Batman 66 |

I'm working today, so I probably won't get to a store.... I could possibly try to find one this afternoon, but I'm not sure I'm up for the exploration (I'm in San Fran for work today) with a looming red eye flight.

There's an LCS I generally don't enjoy that puts on an AMAZING FCBD around here that is amazingly kid friendly, but the kids just aren't feeling the itch to go this year  |

We had contractors here putting in new gutters on the house and garage, so I couldn't get out to a shop to participate this year. If I had the chance, I would have headed out to World's Greatest Comics out Columbus way-he had 50% off back issues, 75% off omnibus and Marvel Masterworks and DC Archives for $15 each as part of the festivities today.

When I weighed the thought of having to stand in line for an hour or two versus this year's selections, I choose to stay home. There are a few books I would like to have picked up, but I figure I have a large selection of past year's issues sitting in a long box that I meant to read and never got around to. I think I'll survive.
