Well, damn. Figures someone there would put on a good con now that I'm 500 miles away.
Gil Gerard, I know, is a local guy, or rather that's where he grew up. Last I looked, the Breitweisers are very much local folks; I think Mitch is from Benton, one county over.
I'll have to look into it a little further, but I'm rather heartened at the indication that some sort of fannish energy must be bubbling up back home. I'm pretty sure the last Roc*Kon (sf convention) was 2000ish, ending a two-decade-plus run. (The first one was in, I believe, early 1977).
