I was surprised to see that Luke Cage first appeared in his own mag. I would have bet money he started out in some Marvel tryout mag.
I agree that origin stories are the best. Same with TV pilot episodes. In these stories you can see what the creators wanted them to be before the publishers and networks began grinding them down to satisfy the masses.
Looks like Giordano inks on the Marvel Premiere 15 cover. I never could get use to seeing his inks on a Marvel mag.
