I'll start it off by nominating The Classic Comics Reading Club 2016. It is always interesting to see what people are reading, how much overlap there is on reading lists, read impressions of what people said etc. as well as helpful to keep track of what I am reading for future reference.

I hope this is the right category for this nomination -- I would like to nominate the 50 Years Ago This Month thread and its siblings the 40 years ago, 30 years ago, etc. for Best Group Thread. My main interest is in the 50 Years thread, but I also read the commentary posted in the 40, 30, 20 and 10 Years. A great cross-section of CCFers participate in the Years threads and it is always interesting to see what people were actually buying and reading at the time and/or have since picked up and or how tastes have changed. classiccomics.boards.net/post/9638/threadI includer the Years threads among my personal "go-to" list of comic book history resources (alongside Mike's Amazing site and comicchron.com). What sets the Years threads apart, IMO, is the subjectivity; as Emerson said, "There is properly no history, only biography." Yes, I'm taking that out of context but you get the idea: the buying habits and the personal reminiscences are fascinating and invaluable, and give me a glimpse of the comic book industry at the time as well as our fellow CCFers' lives, and sometimes society at large ( classiccomics.boards.net/post/149300/thread ). I find myself counting the days until the 1st of every month, as that's when the updates start to hit the 50 Years Ago thread.

I wouldn't count these as clubs/groups myself, but as I've offered no hard-fast definition for what constitutes a "club/group thread", we'll count it and leave it to the voters to decide if it belongs. All it needs is a second.

All it needs is a second. Oh OK, thanks-- maybe it's more suitable for a nomination in the "Best Classic Comics" thread.

I'm going to nominate The All-Purpose Weight Loss Thread. While it began as a more generic thread, it quickly evolved into a close knit group of participants who shared their successes, obstacles, strategies, and encouragements, and, for much of last year, was the most important thread in all of The CCF to me.
