They've always looked nice but I've never read one as they look fairly lightweight. Recently I picked up Executive Assistant Iris on sale. The concept sounded ok, and I think Joe Benitez' Lady Mechanika was from Aspen too, which looked decent.
Has anyone ready any Aspen ?
Good ?
Weak ?

My impression of Aspen is "all surface/no depth". That said, I've only actually read Fathom and Lady Mechanika. The former I only read one issue of and it was pretty terrible, to be honest -- lots of scantily-clad cheesecake with an utterly pointless and uninteresting "gritty" plot (it sort of reminded me of Witchblade in the water).
Lady Mechanika, on the other hand, was actually a pretty reasonable story and I bought the first three issues. However, the massive delays that the series experienced (those first three issues took something like 18 months to come out) killed the momentum of the story for me. Ultimately, while it looked great art-wise and was a reasonably interesting read, with some fairly engaging characters, it wasn't good enough for me to put up with the delays. It was also mightily de-com-pr-e-s-s--e--d; the amount of story in those first three issues would've been told in a single issue back in the Bronze Age (probably half an issue in the Silver Age).

Despite nice art, I've never much been interested. They had a sale with some Executive Assistant titles that looked interesting I haven't read yet, and Lady Mechanika looks good
Just wondering how everyone else felt about em
