Do you remember if the thread was visible on the page? Just yesterday something I was trying to post simply vanished after I sent it away. |

They didn't have Ultimates TPB 1, so I'm getting that elsewhere. I did manage to get the new Spirou par... on the European front ("Fantasio is getting married").
Didn't get around to reading the Saga trade yet nor Dr. Strange.
Black Panther: still a lot of built-up, Black Panther is slowly losing more and more control over his country while he is focused on resurrecting his sister. I like to see that his mother is supporting him while the rest of Wakanda is less than pleased with him. The scenes with his sister in the afterlife/limbo/whatever the Wakanda equivalent is, still feel disconnected (but I guess that is only to be expected). Designwise I'm loving this title, hope the story picks up some more pace next time.
Captain Marvel: It's CWII tie-in. *sigh*. Luckily I could follow the story without knowing anything about CWII: Carol is called before the Supersecret Council Of Bigwigs (I like that Northstar is one of them. Canadian Representative to Carol's group. America sent HP Gyrich. Boo! Hiss!) to defend her reaction time on the last two missions (it took quite some time to react to the alien spaceship last arc, but apparently in CWII they immediately reacted to an interdimensional incursion. Carol tries to keep the Council out of the loop by claiming it was Inhuman tech that predicted the incursion (in fact it's a Inhuman precognitive boy.) Carol is pretty respectful of Stark's points of view, even if she disagrees with them, so maybe this CW will be civil? (Quick check from other threads. NOPE).
Fantasio is Getting Married: I like the concept of the story more than the execution. Spirou's family is shown (and it's not the family from le Petit Spirou nor Rob-Vell and his wife) and they are not very likeable. Seccotine is playing a large role, basically replacing Fantasio while he's getting married. And there is a whole plot about a magic necklace that rejuvenates. Sideplot was unnecessary, I'd rather have more of Spirou and Seccotine running around having fun while Fantasio is having a nervous breakdown planning his wedding.
