It cost 165 million to make and made 41 million in it's opening weekend. I'm not hearing too many good things about the movie.

Sequel to a 20 year old, mediocre at best alien movie.
I'm not sure who was even asking for this movie to be made, but I'm not surprised that it's bombing.

I saw this movie with nine friends of mine and 4 of them said it was a bomb and 5 of them said it was okay. I saw it and I can barely give it 2 stars. It was too loud, too much action, and not enough acting to make it special like the 1st one. Many moviegoers that day were complaining about the loudness and I wear hearing aids and I even had it off for a while and I still can hear the voices coming out of it. I had a headache afterwards because of the loudness of this movie.
It was poorly made by my standards and I almost gave it a bomb - a bomb is given 1 star in my book.

I saw it and liked it. Nothing profound, but good alien butt-kicking. Kind of surprised that it didn't make more money than it did, but it sounds like it's making up for a lot of it overseas. They obviously set it up for another sequel, so we'll see if that happens after the disappointing box office.

So as of July 14th, it has made a world wide gross, according to Box Office Mojo, of $311M vs it's $165M budget.Its still showing in theaters and will make a ton of cash on home video,cable,streaming and broadcast. Wished I was one of it's producers regardless of its artistic qualities or lack of same
