I'm having a quiet 4th of July by myself today and spend the day watching old movies and reading some of old Fantastic Four stories from the various Marvel Masterworks books that I got. My girlfriend has a nasty cold and doesn't feel like doing anything else and I hope that she gets better by the 9th so that we can celebrate her sister birthday that day. My own family wanted to stay home today and take it easy.

Flying back home after lunch. Back to work and a new set of numbers to grapple with.
Susan just showed me a timely video Trump released "making America great again": strong borders, better trade agreements, protecting the second amendment... November 8th is going to be a special day.
She's says it's his best video ever. "That's why people like Trump"
Let's hope Obnoxio the Trump doesn't have a good night that special night and that the American voters vote their heads instead of hate and fear.

BTW, fun fact, Independence Day was actually 7/2, but when they had the news printed, the printer accidently used the date he printed the news, 7/4, and instead of correcting it they just went with it. Ha !

I'll be driving back home soon from my wife's family reunion. And I'm tried and wore out. We had good and bad excitement so I'm pretty ready to crash in my own bed. But I got laundry to do since we rushed out unexpectedly Friday halfway through my workday.
So I'll probably be watching The Batman on Netflix (which I started watching just this week) and folding/doing laundry. I'm sure I'll have some drinks since I'm not on call. But that's about the most celebrating I'll probably be doing.

Have a Tri-tip that's about to go on the smoker. Some good friends from college that we haven't seen in around a decade will be here later. Right now I'm alone in the house for a few minutes and have my Alt-Country Pandora station blaring. Beer and Gin & Tonics in the offing.

I did some work (3 hours last night, 2 hours this afternoon), but about to log out. I also watched WAY too much of the Godzilla Marathon on El Rey (terrible, in particular since I have all of them on DVD). but it sounds like some good friends are gonna come over later this afternoon, and we're going to walk to the local celebration (at the park near my house -- so they get to go to a big fireworks display, and won't have to worry about traffic/parking, since they will be at our house. . . . where if we get lazy, can sit on the front porch and see em just fine anyways)  but plan is they will come over ~5, we'll go up to the park to check out the fair/food trucks/live music, walk back to the house to eat some fried chicken/tato-salad/beans (and drink some beer), then go back to the park after 9 to catch the fireworks display. should be a fun evening. |

I've very much enjoyed watching the Trump Pundits twist themselves into knots claiming it's not a Star of David since there's no triangles (false, and the Nazis would disagree, since that's the patch they made the Jews wear -- and there's photographic proof), and then switching to claiming it's a sheriff's badge (also false, the sheriff's badge has "balls" at the ends, rather than points). we can only hope that despite those claiming Trump is great, that this Holiday will remind folks what makes America great is our diversity. and Trump will go down in flames in November (if not in two weeks at the RNConvention). |

The only movie that I watched on the Godzilla Marathon is Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla and the rest I simply cared less. They need to get other movies and they constantly repeating the same ones over and over again and it's bothers me a lot. |

Sitting at the Expo Center with my family and a couple of my daughter's friends, waiting for the fireworks to start (got to love my tablet with 4G ). Otherwise a pretty quiet day. Made a big batch of crab pasta salad yesterday, and had that for lunch. Overall a good day. |
