What are your thoughts on this? From a design standpoint with the promo photos I've seen I'm already a little disappointed. The costumes seem to really take too much from the world of Iron Man and The Dark Knight. And it's not just this film. Personally I liked the original design of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Zyuranger costumes and just wanted a little modern movie magic/money to essentially enhance what was already there to work with. I just hope the Megazord doesn't pull a Godzilla 1998.
As far as the narrative goes, I've heard some interesting ideas on what is thought to be a motivation with the main antagonist Rita Repulsa. As much as I'm a little letdown by the costumes, I hope this film doesn't suck. For a while I've thought you could take the framework of what Power Rangers is and maybe push the envelope towards a more mature audience while still keeping the spirit of the franchise intact. It's a balancing act like all things, but it's not supposed to be easy. Hopefully the right people are involved and something decent comes out of it. After all these years Power Rangers/Zyuranger still puts a smile on my face. I was never really invested beyond the first couple of seasons, but it was a lot of fun a certain time in my childhood.

I just saw the costumes and I totally agree with you of that they looks too much like Iron Man and having said that I was stunned to learn about this today and was startled by your initial post PapaShogun.
This news caught me by surprise!
