There was a panic when the incomplete Marvel solicits for October were leaked and there were no X-titles in it. Rumors swirled Marvel was ending the X-Men as an entity and articles like this exploded everywhere. However, writers on X-books have commented on various social media platforms they will still be writing X-books come October and afterwards and people should wait until the full solicits are released before jumping to conclusions, but where's the fun in that, let's all panic and rumor monger seems to be the general reaction and the conspiracy nuts start saying the writers are lying to us so we won't stop buying their books before October hits, etc. etc. etc.
So until I see the actual full solicits and Marvel confirms there will be no X-books post October, I am highly skeptical of any speculation, conspiracy theories, rumors or what have you regarding the X-line. Could it be trimmed? yes. Could there be changes in which titles are kept and which are dropped? Sure. Will things be shuffled? Most likely. Will there be no X-Men to speak of? Doubtful.
By the way, Hasbro just debuted a new line of Marvel Legends figures featuring several new X-Men figures (Cable, Wolverine, Phoenix/Jean Grey, Iceman, Kitty Pryde and Havok were the ones I saw form photos of the Hasbro breakfast this morning-right next to the nifty SDCC exclusive Micronauts figures)and Marvel Studios is a producer on the new Fox tv series Legion coming this fall which had a trailer debut at SDCC this weekend so all the fingers pointing to no new X-toys and Marvel not sanctioning the Fox X-Men stuff seem to be wrong, which pokes a big hole in the no more X-Men rumor movement.

The X-Men ended for me when Claremont got fired in 1992. I don't think they've ever recovered from a creative perspective.

There's no new news in that article. The X-Men are being scaled back? Well, to an extent, yes, but that's been happening for awhile. No more new mutants? Big deal, there are far too many of them already anyway. I much preferred the X-Men when tbere were maybe a couple of dozen mutants in the Marvel Universe, not hundreds.

That article is like 10 months old, which just goes to show the paranoia about X-men these days. I think it's more that no one has any good ideas for the team in what passed for the Marvel bullpen these days.

I heard that Marvel Films from a dear friend of mine that they aren't thinking about making anymore X-Men Movies is that true or not? If Fox has the rights, Marvel has no say about future X-men movies.

The X-Men ended for me when Claremont got fired in 1992. I don't think they've ever recovered from a creative perspective. There was some decent stuff in the 90's (Alan Davis on Excalibur, Peter David on X-Factor, and Alan Davis/Steven Seagle era on the main books).

First : "Cyclops was right!" Second : What Storm says about the terrigen mists makes no sense whatsoever. As Wolgang Pauli once said : "Not only isn't this right... It's not even wrong!" Storm claims the terrigen mists are sterilizing mutants, and that there will therefore be no more mutants. That would make sense were the Marvel mutants space aliens or a different species altogether, but they are not; they are mutants of our species, Homo sapiens. They can't be mutants and a different species at the same time, it's a contradiction in terms. Mutants are human beings with some DNA sequences different from those found in the majority of people. There are mutants born every day on our planet; the only difference being that mutations in the real world do not lead to developing super-powers. Mutations are what allows evolution to exist at all. They are also what lead people to get cancer. Are we to understand that in the Marvel universe, people with cancer are now sterilized? What about lactose-tolerant people? They are mutant too! The mutation appeared and spread something like five thousand years ago. Blue-eyed people are also mutants... 97% of them share the same mutation in the HERC2 gene; "normal" humans should have dark eyes. But all right, let's stop insisting on trivial things like science and the proper use of words. Let's say that "mutants" in this context means the people who have that common sense-twisting "X gene" that gives them superpowers. Let's say that only those people get sterilized by the terrigen mists. Well, so what? I can understand that it's a bummer to learn you've just been sterilized by Marvel's new media darlings whose movie rights haven't been sold to Fox, but for our sterile mutants there's always the possibility of adoption if they want to know the joys of parenthood. As for not having any more people with the X-gene, does it matter? I'm not sure super-powered parents would insist on having super-powered kids. Sounds like something that might mess up an otherwise normal and safe life. Besides, terrigen mists seem to be doing exactly what the "X gene" used to : create super-powered mutants. So it's not as if the Earth will soon run out of people born with different genes.

So far I only have Phoenix and Kitty.

The problems I have with this whole idea of Marvel pushing the Inhumans, over the X-Men lately is the complete lack of cool new Inhuman characters. For all the thousands of new Inhumans created by the Terrigen mists theres not a one that is semi interesting. The other is the misuse or non-use of Black Bolt over the last 2 years or so. By far the coolest and most interesting Inhuman, he has been marginalised, with most of the spotlight on Medusa,Crystal, or Karnak(cos hes got his own book...duh). Why wouldnt you push the best character you have?

Why wouldnt you push the best character you have? Black Bolt is the central figure of the Inhumans and all the rest including Medusa, Crystal, and Karnak are secondary and what you said here hit me like a ton of bricks. I have a friend of mine is really frustrated that they are treating Black Bolt who I believe is the most interesting, complex, and fascinating character on the Inhumans and not even focusing on him it's downright criminal. I would like to know why they not pushing him or not your question at the end of your post baffled me completely. For what I read and heard so far - they are doing a very poor job of it and that's alone destroyed my love of the Inhumans many years ago of which it was a mysterious team that was lead my a mysterious leader and his name was ... Black Bolt!
