One of the highlights of every San Diego Comic Con is the exclusive items you can only find on the showroom floor. Let's check out some of the best exclusives this year. Batman '66 Utility Belt with Batarang. This is the token "I never had this as a kid, must have it" toy. Alien Egg Chamber playset. ReAction is just killing it with these retro playsets. Look at the kids expression on the cover! Priceless. Rom Spaceknight Mighty Muggs figure. I'm not a huge Mighty Muggs fan but at least it's cheaper than the original 1979 ROM figure. Hot Wheels Darth Vader Lightsaber car. Game of Thrones Dragon Egg box. Now anyone can become the Mother of Dragons. Amazing World of Gumball SNES Mini-Comic. And saving the best for last...the Stan Lee Talking Plush! I'm sure there are a lot more neat items I missed. Feel free to post or discuss your favorites.

It's true though that comics are kind of taking a backseat at Comicon. Not comic properties, but the comics themselves. I don't doubt the dealers aren't doing as well as at other cons where admission will be paid by people looking to buy comics and not attend a panel about Game Of Thrones. But I can't feel sorry because Chuck didn't make $1200 an hour at his seven dealer booths.

I understand where Chuck is coming from but he should know that the SDCC hasn't been a traditional comic convention for over a decade now. Seven dealer booths with comics and a few variant exclusive covers isn't going to bring in the cash, he's going to need some high profile exclusives if he wants to really draw in the crowds. I do like the Tom Scioli variant they have for Transformers vs. G.I. Joe though.

I can honestly see where Chuck is coming from, but if profits are what he's after, he should just go to Dragoncon or Wondercon where Hollywood has a smaller presence. I'm sure it's tough for him to come to terms with how SDCC has changed over the past decade since he's been a veteran of it.

Here's a thought, if you know you aren't going to generate enough revenue to support 7 tables at SDCC, don't get 7 tables get 5 or 4 or whatever you think your revenue will support.... -M He probably only actually brought enough comics for four booths but bought out a few dealers before the doors even opened. He'll buy out a few more before he leaves. He acts like he's not making a profit, but that $1200 an hour he needs probably applies to the five figures he'll spend on buying out other dealers while he's there, and the transportation of a truckload of comics back to his distribution center. Probably even includes the cost to process and inventory all those comics. He's doing fine, and he'll be back at SDCC next year. He's just mad someone else is selling comics too.

If there are people at SDCC willing to sell Chuck their collections at ten cents on the dollar, I'm sure he'll be back. He just wont be taking his large booths and Mile High Variant comics with him.

Good,I have no respect at all for him. Especially after the letter he sent out (and later took down or changed) after hurricane Sandy about how it was going to effect his sales. The codeword was Superstorm or something. Now mind you this is AFTER the storm when people (including people related to me) lost their homes. I'm getting worked up about this idiot again. I'll leave this alone.
