I can recommend this free podcast (nearly an hour) with Dez Skinn, a guy who worked for Marvel UK and was instrumental in launching Doctor Who Magazine in 1979: Episode 114 Classic - Dez Skinn

So it looks like Sophie Alred herself has written a Who novel, At Childhood's End in which Ace meets Thirteen and her companions. Coming out in early February.

Finally got around to seeing the first episode, and while I still loved Graham and the new Master the whole spy element was a little dull.

Welp. Britbox lost the rights to modern Doctor Who on January 1, and the pricey HBO Max service to which Who is moving hasn't started yet.

Did anybody watch "Fugitive of the Judoon" last night?
***SPOILERS***
The Doctor met a woman who also claimed to be the Doctor. Since our current Doctor didn't remember this Doctor, it obviously wasn't a past incarnation. But the woman claiming to be the Doctor also didn't recognise our Doctor.
A few episodes earlier, the Master told the Doctor, "Everything you know is a lie."
Are we in for a major retcon? Or is this a Doctor from somewhere else within the Multiverse?
I hope this has been planned very carefully. Since the show returned in 2005, there's been a retcon or two, not always handled well. I mean, the whole 'last of the Time Lords' never made sense. 'Last' is a relative term in a series about time travel.

I watched it even though I said I wouldn't. I won't list the various things I found to be uneasy about, but Jack Harkness and his constant sexual references to everyone and anyone didn't sit appropriately for me here. That seemed all there was to him more this appearance than ever. I guess I'll check in next week, they've got this 'bum in a seat' for the moment to quote Jon Nathan-Turner's old phrase about where the bottom line really was. Other than Eccleston's sole season and that one Tennant where he climbs the Beeb's old broadcast tower on the top of Ally Pally in 1953, I have no desire to revisit any new Who again, unlike many of the older series where I'll watch all the extras more than once and read about them.

Yes indeed. Gimme the poor cheezy effects laden original Who over most of the new Who. There are plenty of great episodes to be found amid the original & Doctors (and the new as well) to savor over and over. Few weeks ago I found the DVD of The Five Doctors 20th anniversary from 1983 and am looking forward to viewing it.

I've never really been a fan of Captain Jack. Yet I did like John Barrowman in Arrow. But Captain Jack is too obnoxious for me.
I never really liked Torchwood, either.
New Who has its moments, but there does seem to be a lack of substance at times. The episode "Orphan 55" had nothing even remotely compelling for me. It was just the same old "place under siege from aliens" that we've seen in countless shows/movies - and with absolutely no depth or interesting character development.

I'm getting near the end of my third or fourth rewatching of new Who up through Eleven. Still loving it. Stephen Moffat turned in so many memorable episodes. Tennant is great. The Donna season is classic. The first two Amy Pond seasons work so well together as a unit, incorporating threads begun seasons previously. It's not as ambitious a long-term story as Babylon 5 but still great.

this was the last chance I gave the current season, and I'm glad I did, as it was the best episode of the season thus far.
was it a GREAT episode? nope, but at least it was decent enough to get me to stick around for a few more.
the other Doctor, and timelord, are clearly from an alternate dimension - introduced in the idiotic 2 parter Spyfall, with them putting spies in "every universe"
it's an interesting wrinkle, and I guess how they undo the destruction of Gallifery.
I loved the unexpected return of Captn. Jack. .

It's not as ambitious a long-term story as Babylon 5 but still great. You like the Donna season? It takes all types, I guess. Out of the first four "New Who" seasons, the only one I like is the Martha season, primarily because I could not stand either Rose or Donna. I loved the episode that introduced the Weeping Angels, and the two-parter written by Paul Cornell, with the Family of Blood, was simply brilliant. Loved the Amy/Rory eps (Karen Gillen is my celeb crush), didn't mind the Clara with Matt Smith eps, kind of liked the 12th Doctor seasons (although I wasn't a big fan of the Doctor himself, the supporting cast, especially Nardole and Missy, elevated them). Haven't seen any of the 13th Doctor eps yet, since we don't have cable any longer and they aren't free as part of Amazon Prime as the others are.
