Mr. Pink is pretty awesome, I'd love to see him become a regular companion on his own.

I like Danny Pink a lot so far, but it hurts my head to see the theories on him on the net.

That is more or less why I don't belong to any communities dedicated specifically to Doctor Who.

Why does he have to be Mr. Pink? Why can't he be Mr. Purple?

Did anybody else think of that 1970s movie Horror Express while this was playing?

Mr. Pink is pretty awesome, I'd love to see him become a regular companion on his own. He reminds an awful lot of Rose's boyfriend, just a bit less British. He's OK, but I don't think they could do a male companion these days.... too many female viewers that want at least a hint of a relationship.

I really liked that both the Doctor and Clara had valid points at the end. The Doctor fully believing that he was showing them respect by leaving the decision to them and Clara believing that the Doctor was close enough to humanity that he had a part in this decision and abandoned them instead. I'm leaning towards the Doctor though. I can see why Clara would react the way she did to the difficult position she was placed in but I really hope this isn't a sign that they intend to start writing her as the same kind of irrational, emotional blackmailer Amy Pond became towards the end of her stint. Amy Pond was what now?

I don't see Pink and Mickey as similar, except their both being soldiers (but that's pretty much reversed). Also, they may keep a female companion to service the shippers, but they've shown they can add a male companion to the mix (Mickey, Jack, Rory, etc...)

Why does he have to be Mr. Pink? Why can't he be Mr. Purple? Cuz the 11th Doctor already did the purple thing with his coat. Where's River Song? This new Grand-Dad Doctor Who needs some 'Hello Sweetie' in his life.

I'm pretty sure Mickey was originally a mechanic and the only time I would consider him to be an actual soldier was in "The End of Time" although he starts down that road while destroying Cybermen in the alternate reality.

Yeah, other than dating a companion and distrusting the Doctor I don't really see to many similarities between Mickey and Pink...and even the mistrust is different as Mickey mostly seemed to distrust the Doctor because he thought Rose was falling for him while Pink distrusts the Doctor because he sees the Doctor as being similar to many of the commanders that he had served under meaning that he thinks the Doctor views anyone below him as possibly expendable.

"Mummy on the Orient Express" was quite good and arguably the most consistent episode so far this season despite the resolution at the end being mostly off screen. I really like the visual of a train flying through outer space and I've been looking forward to it since it was first mentioned way back at the end of "The Big Bang". The special effects makeup used for the mummy was excellent both creepy and gruesome. Jenna Coleman really did look stunning in that dress. I thought the jelly baby scene was pretty funny. The bubble wrap line immediately made me think of "The Ark in Space" which I just recently rewatched (and used bubble wrap airbrushed green for the monster makeup). The scene where the mummy's hand passes through The Doctor's face looked really cool.

I especially loved the way it showcased just how alien and detached the Doctor can be in the way he interacted with and reacted to the characters who were just about to die.

I'm not sure why the mummy looked like a mummy, tho it did look cool. And I'm not sure why it was set on a re-creation of the Orient Express; the setting didn't add to the plot, tho it did look cool. And why introduce a new mystery opponent, when we still don't know much about Missy?
All that being said, I loved Capaldi in this episode. The superiority that's always been there is coming out as full-blown arrogance. The Doctor is the smartest person in the room, he knows it, and if you're not doing what he tells you, you're in the way. The snarky remarks, the impatience, and yes, even the manipulation of Clara, all felt right to me. I'm liking this guy.
