SNW episode 9 of season 2: the good - Uhura was featured prominently. Obviously some of the actors had decent singing voices. The bad: I dislike musicals. Just not a fan. A Disney movie? It's OK. But not in a drama series. This felt campy like an episode of the 1966 Batman show. To each their own, I thought the musical numbers were well done and it reminded me a lot of the period piece episodes from the original series. I agree it was produced and directed very well. I'm just not a fan of musicals. I'm glad most fans liked it. Feeling a little bummed that next week is the last episode for this season.

My problem is I was spoiled by Khan!!! the Musical, which did 'Star Trek as a musical' better and had more fun with the concept.

This clip came up in my YouTube feed this evening. It features footage from the classic "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode of the original series, but it's been doctored to include two other, much more modern Star Trek characters, in the background. I assume this is from a later series like Deep Space Nine or similar and that the two characters are on a covert time travel mission to the Enterprise during Kirk's 5 year mission??
Anyway, it's very well done, I must say. I'd be interested if anyone knows where this comes from and can fill me in on the back story.

If they want to have Pike be one of the great legends of Starfleet and a captain who's as good if not better than Kirk, having him be completely indecisive and unable to respond while his ship is being fired at for several minutes straight and his crew is literally begging him for orders is not the way to do it. He looks like a complete incompetent next to Riker who was able to make the hard call and act decisively with his famous 'Mr. Worf, fire' in Best of Both Worlds. He has to drop in my rankings of star trek captains after this

Watched episode 10/season 2 of DS9 today called SanctuaryBasically race of people have traveled from the wormhole looking for a fabled planet to live on. Really good episode touching on a lot of subjects like overpopulation, with Bajor being the planet that the people think is their Kentanna and Bajor not wanting to house them because of their own problems of not having enough It kind of ends on a sad note with the people going to live on another planet and slightly regretting not being able to colonize Bajor as farmers Thought it was a really good episode

It rarely depicted things as a good guys/bad guys dichotomy, and frequently showed how each side could rightfully see itself as the correct one. Great show, and one to be commended for breaking the mold.

Started season 2 of Strange New Worlds. Loving this show in comparison to Discovery. I got to the 3rd season of that as well but was a little burned out with it after they jumped forward to the distant future. Will probably finish that show after watching all of SNW.

I finally got a Paramount sale to line up with nothing on Disney, so started Strange New Worlds (have to wait for the wife for the others)... pretty good so far two eps in, though I'm not sure I needed Kirk's dad to be there, seems like overkill.
I'm not super excited that Pike seems to not get over knowing his future based on other comments, two episodes in and I already want to shout 'suck it up and deal!' at him.
