New trailer now out YMMV, but I think it looks absolutely dreadful I know that Patty Jenkins is the director...but this still looks EXACTLY like a Zack Snyder film. I mean...in every way possible. I just can't muster up any more hope for this DC cinematic universe. It's just been one colossal fail thus far.

New trailer now out YMMV, but I think it looks absolutely dreadful Yeah, that looks really bad. Aside from the film including Chris Pine, who might well be the single worst mainstream movie actor of his generation, this just looks like another hopelessly generic summer superhero movie to me (like, we haven't had many of those lately). Also, as a period piece set during World War I, the presence of anachronistic, 21st century "humorous" dialogue is really jarring -- people simply didn't talk like that back then. Also, what the hell's up with that accent the Amazonians all have? What accent is it even supposed to be? I have zero interest in seeing this.

Tough crowd!
I think it looks darn good, myself. If one has to do a video game superhero movie yet again, might as well use the CGI to create beautiful scenery.
The contrast between Paradise Island (which definitely merits its name in those images) and Old Blighty is as subtle as any Zack Snyder film, sure, but superhero movies are about people who solve problems by punching each other in the face... subtlety might be a welcome bonus, but is hardly a prerequisite.
As for the World War I context, I find it's the single most interesting thing about this film. We need more period pieces in the genre, and once again the contrast between the Amazon's elegant and ritualized form of combat and the horror of the trenches highlights nicely the contrast between their world and "man's world".
Actually looking forward to this!

Very excited about this. I like that it's a period piece (the Captain America film is one of my favorites of the Marvel batch).

Can't wait.
And it looks like they are going to give some love the Brian Azzarello run of WW comics and her amended origin.

I'm giving it a chance simply because someone else is at the helm other than Snyder.

Early reviews from critics & the media are overwhelmingly positive.

Early reviews from critics & the media are overwhelmingly positive. My friend advises me to see this movie and he told me that it is going to be good movie to see. So, I'll see it regardless what anyone say about it.

It will probably be worth at least the $4 I spend to see it at the bargain matinee, so no reason not to give it a shot.

Taking my 7 year old niece to see it Saturday.
She knew Superman and Batman but had never heard of Wonder Woman. How sad !
