I wish they'd given him his real costume instead of one of the movie versions. Cei-U! I summon the sellout! That's what I thought, too, but didn't want to be "that guy." Thanks for taking the bullet on that, Kurt! The story I read said that the objection wasn't so much that it was a fictional character than that it's basically a commercial promotion.

Iccy, maybe you and I should start a campaign for a Spider-Man statue in Forest Hills, a Dr. Strange in Greenwich Village, a Luke Cage in Harlem, a Daredevil in Hell's Kitchen and a Thing for Yancy Street Is there a real Yancy Street? I always thought it was a fictional place?

I thought Cap was a big famous character in the U.S.? Right up there with the likes of Batman and Superman, in terms of mainstream, non-comic fan recognition. Great pics, by the way, Icc. That's you in the last one, I assume? You're younger than I imagined. Funny how you get an impression of someone from their online posts that is often times completely wrong.

I always thought it was a fictional place? I confess, that one is fictitious. But Kirby meant it to be a street representative of the lower east side of Manhattan

I wish they'd given him his real costume instead of one of the movie versions. Cei-U! I summon the sellout! That's exactly what bugged me when I saw the pic. If he ain't wearing buccaneer boots, he ain't Cap! But he hasn't worn the buccaneer boots in the comics for several years now, either...

I think we had a thread where everyone posted a picture of themselves. It is startling to see how everyone looks.
