In Create Post mode, just click on the Tag icon. You'll be presented with a dropdown field, start typing in the username of the person you want to tag. Then just select the user. Note: most people's usernames are the same as their display names, but there are exceptions. You can check someone's profile if there seems to be a discrepancy. While you're composing it will look like @(no space)icctrombone Icctrombone Here's where the original question/answer was posted, there's a helpful video included. classiccomics.org/post/165684/thread

Is their any value of members here gets tagged? ... I got tagged a couple of times in the past month or so and I'm completely lost when they do this?
Can anyone here care to explain the real value of being tagged?

I do it so someone who might not be following that particular thread can be invited to read what I wrote.

It's to make sure the person tagged sees the post in question. Tags get notifications so if you want to make sure someone to see a post, you tag them. Not everyone reads every post in every thread, so may not see a post if they are not notified.
I thought I had answered this and posted Proboards instructional video how to do it in one of the help threads, but I can't seem to find it now.

If someone tags you, they may want you to be aware of their post because they are asking a question they feel only you can answer, or maybe they're referring to a comic or character they feel you'd be interested in, or they may be giving you credit for an idea or topic they are writing about, or...there could be many reasons they want you to be aware of their post. For example, I am tagging you in this post, @mechagodzilla , so you should receive a notification that I mentioned you in this post.

Farrar and mrp - Makes sense to me. I can see the usefulness of having a member here tagging you.
