Awesome! Always liked Reggie--such a wiseguy! It has been fun rediscovering the updated Archie titles. Enjoyed the first issue of Betty and Veronica. Looking forward to Josie and the Pussycats and Reggie.

I really have liked the new Archie. Waid is still writing Archie so the tone of that hasn't changed. Jughead did fine with the change in the creative team. In fact I am enjoying that title more with the new writer & artist. I do worry about B&V when Hughes will leave. Looking forward to both Josie & Reggie.

Has the 2nd issue of Betty and Veronica come out yet? It seems like it has been more than a month or so since #1 was released. I am going to ask that Reggie and Me be added to my pull list today. When I was little I read every Archie title I could get my hands on. Nice to be able to revisit the characters today!

Has the 2nd issue of Betty and Veronica come out yet? It seems like it has been more than a month or so since #1 was released. I am going to ask that Reggie and Me be added to my pull list today. When I was little I read every Archie title I could get my hands on. Nice to be able to revisit the characters today! #1 came out 7/20. #2 was supposed to come out 9/14. It didn't. No mention when it will be released....At this point sometime in Oct??? |

Adam Hughes has never been a fast artist and doing writing and drawing means you will get issues as they come. Welcome to the new Archie, no longer a reliable monthly dose of entertainment from a strong stable of artists and writers, instead being hip, cool, trendy following the mandate that they must catch new teens by duplicating other company styles: multiple covers, late shipping (as in months: i am looking at you Sabrina and Afterlife) and writers and artists that last a few issues and just as you become accustomed to their style they leave and somebody knew has to try to maintain the flow. While i am enjoying the new versions, it will always be what came before that i treasure most in the Archie universe. |

This is a tough call. I'm enjoying the new Archie line (really liked the new B&V #1), but have never liked Reggie. Lots of characters I'd rather see get a title before him.
And delays are really hurting these guys. I loved Afterlife and Sabrina, but I've all but forgotten they're still being published. Very frustrating.

My view echos other posters here. I will give it a chance no doubt, but think its a good idea not to get your hope up for this to be as consistent as the previous versions of Archie comics in terms of output.

Reggie & Me is a 5 issue mini series not an ongoing. This makes more sense than an ongoing. While i like Reggie within the group context being the frenemy of Archie and Jughead i can't see him supporting an ongoing like Jughead or the Pussycats. I do like what they showed in the latest Jughead with Sabrina's spell backfiring against Jughead so that he and Reggie spend a day bromancing and bonding. It needs to be shown that Reggie can be a jerk and a self important ego beyond belief but in the end he isn't an asshole, just that atypical guy trying too hard to be noticed and liked and being part of something more important. Reggie is just going about growing up in a way he was either taught or grew up around until he notices the subtle changes happening to himself. I like how the Reggie of adulthood seen in the Archie the married life run of stories was the sum of all of his parts good and bad. |
