Sony has announced that a biopic of William Moulton Masrston, creator of Wonder Woman is in the works... Be interesting to see if this hits the big screens and how it is received and/or affects the Wonder Woman movie and merchandising DC/WB is doing. Production on the film has started. more at Deadline.com-M

Like most documentaries I expect that if it hits the big screens at all it'll be a pretty limited release and thus have very little if any affect on what Warner is doing with their feature film. It should be a good film to see though, regardless of its impact.

Well if I understand correctly, the last time this happened with a biopic related to a WB property (i.e. Hollywoodland) WB went nuts and tried everything they could (almost all of it unsuccessfully) to separate themselves from it, stop it, minimize it's release, etc. etc. because they were afraid of the backlash and its impact on Superman Returns which also released in 2006. All it did was increase the profile and interest in Hollywoodland. Which is why I am curious to see what they will try this time around. -M

I guess we'll see if the Warners learned their lesson this time.
