deadline.com/2016/10/studio-8-comic-book-scout-timothy-truman-movie-chris-macbride-1201841519/Studio 8 has optioned the rights to Tim Truman's series, Scout, originally published at Eclipse, with Conspiracy director Chris McBride attached as director. Truman is heavily involved, so one hopes it will do the comic justice. I'm a long time fan; but, can't help thinking that it would have been a better film property in the 80s, when it was still going. It certainly fit into that era's filmmaking. I have a sneaking suspicion that it will have the short attention span that most modern films do, which works against the series. Truman knew when to pause and when to go all out; Hollywood seems to have lost that art. I hope he has enough influence to convey some of that and the film actually gets made, unlike the previously optioned but never produced American Flagg. Again, I wish it had been optioned earlier, as Wes Studi would have been perfect for it, in the late 80s or early 90s. Hope we get some Beau La Duke, too. Now, where's that Grimjack film (heck, tv series)?
