Ok, time to seriously get down to business! I really need to find out the specific issue number of a specific story that I read way back in the 70's...please look at my above post...if ANYONE can give me the specific Magazine (Creepy, Eerie?) & issue number I will mail a DC Omnibus free of charge. You have the following to choose from... "Batman Golden Age v1" "Flash v1" "Green Lantern v1, v2" Justice League of America v1" Ok, I have been looking for this particular story for years, but have had NO luck! The story was about a group of people deserted on an island and they had no food & after a time were starving and everyone had to take turns letting a doctor amputate an arm so they could all eat. The doctor promised that when they were rescued he would have his arm amputated, but he didn't amputate his arm as promised (can't recall exactly what happened next) So, like I said, give me the required info & you get a free Omnibus. Have you looked on the front page of this forum, bottom right, for the link to the Warren Pub Archives, where you'll find just about all the Warren magazines available in digital format for you to browse on your own. You should enjoy reading through them as you search. I probably read that story but couldn't tell you the issue I have looked through all of the Warren archives in the past, still no clue to the story in question. I seriously have no idea if this story was from Eerie or Creepy, but sure it was from a horror magazine format in the 70's.

It sounds like it might be from Eerie/Fass publications, but I don't know of any index.

Don't know the exact title or the name of the author but it was a detailed look at all the various black and white magazine sized comics from all different publishers from the 1950s and onward. Supposedly very authoritative and it does have an index-again how detailed, I don't know. Probably available from Amazon or possibly from the library system. If I get more info about it, I'll report back here, but I'd certainly would check it out to narrow down the search for that story

One favourite Warren artist I haven't seen mentioned is Gonzalo Mayo. When I first started to collect Creepy and Eerie back issues getting all the issues he worked on was one of my motivations. El Cid was probably his longest-running character:

Hi, I am trying to find the issue of one of the Warren magazines (Creepy, Errie?) where a husband and wife are shipwrecked. The wife eats something that turns her into a tree, and then the tree ends up returning the wife as a baby. The comic starts out with people finding the husband and the baby. Can someone help me? Thanks!
