I'm hoping that if this does well Warner will consider going forward with a live action version: The fact it is R rated may limit its sales however, so I am not sure an R rated animated super-hero feature is going to sell like gangbusters. For instance, I know the guy who orders for our local library system and he said this morning he is going to pass on it because 90% of the circulation on the DC animated movies in the county is on kid's library cards rather than adults, and when they ordered Killing Joke and filed it in the adult movie section rather than the kids section, it didn't get much in the way of circulation beyond the first few weeks it was available while other DC movies are evergreen circulation generators. -M

I don't think this will do as well as that, and you're right in thinking it could reach a broader audience if they toned it down a little but I applaud them for taking risks.
