I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who though Zuckerberg looked very reminiscent of H.P. Lovecraft at his recent appearance before Congress. I really was struck by the facial similarities.

I'd rather hand Cthulhu my soul (if I even have one) than Facebook.

I saw the comparison going around with him and Data from Star Trek which I thought was kind of mean to Data lol

Congrats, spoon ! Running is just one of those things I have never gotten in to, but I really admire the dedication of folks like you who start at one level and work their way up. My older daughter did a two-mile run at the age of ten and is now running 5Ks with my wife two years later, with the intent to move to 10Ks in the next couple of years. It's a lot of work, and you should be proud of your accomplishment. Thanks! There were teenagers running the half marathon (which is about 21K), so moving up to 10Ks is definitely an achievable goal for your daughter.

I'm on a comic book reading mode lately, and enjoying all these stories (action-adventure, weird, chic-lit, and even the mediocre ones with great art) like never before for some reason.
Has anyone read and read comic books and just felt like they are just reading it for the sake of reading it but not really enjoying it. Then all of a sudden they are reading comic books and are suddenly super entertained and end up in a zone enjoying them? Isn't it fantastic?

I think we all have this cycle of "burn out" whether it is comic books, books, music, television or movies or other things in life. It is the nature of it all that too much of any one thing leads to boredom of it. I think that some balance and variety is the key here. Changing things up helps recharge and create a new enthusiasm again for things, especially those things we truly enjoy, cherish and love. Last year I was on a mystery kick and read a bunch all summer long. This year history seems to have come around again and I am reading quite a few about the American Revolution and World War One. I have several biographies to dig into as well. Go with the flow and enjoy whatever it is that entertains in the moment and strive to spice up the reading palate whenever you can!

I see your point, and agree with it. With comic books, it seems I devour reading these back issues in bulk for about several weeks. And then I would not come near one for about a couple of months. Then after a void of not reading comic books for a couple of months or even several months, all of a sudden a Galactus-style "hunger" is in me to read and devour many back issue comic books for several weeks, like I cannot even satisfy the "hunger" in a span of a couple of weeks. And then the cycle restarts again.

Has anyone read and read comic books and just felt like they are just reading it for the sake of reading it but not really enjoying it. Then all of a sudden they are reading comic books and are suddenly super entertained and end up in a zone enjoying them? Isn't it fantastic? My main entertainment hobbies; comics (and/or reading in general), movies/tv and video games all go in cycles. And the best that I can tell as to which is what gets the forefront of my attention has more to do with the demands on my time than my actual interest in any of the three. With older kids now, I am actually finding less time to read, because they are more active and then some of my time is demanded. Though my 14 year old is becoming somewhat more independent from us (my wife and I) and does stuff with his friends. Though we still play video games together and he and my wife share interests in TV shows I don't so that's there time together. Right now I am mostly playing video games and watching Twilight Zone again on Netflix. I find it easier to do either of these, with kids (my own and others) coming and going most of the evenings and weekend, that I can stand distractions to these two far more than reading. A few nights ago everyone went to sleep fairly early so I took the time to play some Warframe on the Xbox1 and before I knew it 1:30 am was here and I was like "crap I need to be up in 5 hours!" But I enjoyed it because I don't get to play at that length very often. So yeah, that's kind of how my hobbies/interest go with me in waves.

I'll do that when I get a bundle of comic books next Wednesday at my LCS!

I go through ebbs and flows all the time with my hobbies. Some days, I don't even want to look at a comic book, so I will play some Magic: The Gathering or binge-watch 4 episodes of Supernatural (I've been rewatching the series from the start the past couple of months). Other days, I can sit down after work and blissfully read 10-15 comics before dinner, then read another 5-10 after doing the dishes.
Some people would tell you to "fake it until you make it", but I prefer to see where each day takes me. I haven't posted a Captain America review in a while because I wasn't feeling it, but lately, there has been a tickle at the back of my brain to dust off the pile I had already written and get them online.

About Two weeks ago I spilled water on my apple laptop and fried the system. I didn't want to go to the Apple Store to get overcharged for their work so I dropped it off at a computer repair place that I'd used in the past. Well, the owner told me it wasn't the hard drive but the mother board and it would be 450 to fix it. I really didn't want to go over 500 hundred for the repair and I told the guy no. When I went to pick the computer up, I didn't call ahead and it was still disassembled when I got there. I drove home empty handed and my wife told me she would kick in a 100 bucks towards the repair and I ended up giving him 200 from my debit card to fix it. I have to come up with the other 300 , probably gonna charge it to plastic. I'm still annoyed over the whole thing.
