Just had my first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine about an hour ago. Was administered by a hot young doctor too (why, if I was a single man...*yadda, yadda*).  |

Well into day 2 after my Pfizer 2nd shot with no side effects noted. Hopeful none come around the rest of this week. Verily and forsooth work beckons...

Yeah, I didn't get any serious side effects myself. I think I might have had a slight fever as all day at work that day I kept saying, "Is it hot in here?" but it was actually a fairly unseasonably cool day out.

My sister said her second Pfizer shot wasn't much worse than her first, but her husband and daughter were hit harder. Seems to be as random as the effects of the virus itself. |

as I may have mentioned for 2nd Moderna for me? ~17 hours after the shot, I got fever, nausea, and headache.
lasted about 36 hours, then suddenly went away.
so glad I got it, the benefit for mental health simply can't be estimated.

Yeah, when I got the 2nd Pfizer, I got a little arm soreness about 12 hours after the shot that lasted 3-4 hours, and fatigue that lasted about a day (but I am not sure if that was the shot or the other health issues that were in play at the time). My wife had the same, a little arm soreness and about a day of fatigue.

It's been 24 days since my Astra Zeneca shot, and thanks to the media coverage each time I had a bit of a headache I went "THROMBOSIS!" But so far... no side effect whatsoever.
Can't wait until we're out of this situation. Our region has just been reclassified as a red zone, meaning we go back to confinement and shops and gyms are closed again.

Just over a week since I got dose #1 of Moderna.
Had arm soreness but I was a little tense, so probably the fallout from that. No other effects.

The only reason I had any arm soreness after my first dose of Moderna last week, was that I slept on my arm that night.😏

I was one of those who got Pfizer but virtually zero side effects other than a slightly sore arm. On the one hand, I'm thankful, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me hoping for a stronger immune response just so I could be sure the damn thing was working properly. Then again, I rarely have interactions with flu shots or anything else, so probably just the way I'm built.

Got a text from my older daughter this morning to let me and her mom know that she lettered in swimming as a freshwoman this year. The older girls on the team told her that getting it as a 9th-grader was really hard and would be the biggest barrier to doing it all through HS.
She's so thrilled because she really wanted to be able to get her jacket to wear around as well as potentially be a four-year letterer.
Her excitement (as well as her sister's when she succeeds) is what makes being a parent all worthwhile.

Anyone else having problems loading the site? My connection has been slow all day for all the sites I usually go to, so this site as well as others has been slow loading or not loading without a couple attempts all day. I just assumed it was my connection or provider where the issue was though. It's been better since 4ish, but earlier in the day it was all bad. -M |
