Got the tax assessment on my house today. Generally not a fun thing. On the other hand it’s worth 2.25 times what I paid for it 10 years ago. And assessed value is generally under the actual market value.

Got the tax assessment on my house today. Generally not a fun thing. On the other hand it’s worth 2.25 times what I paid for it 10 years ago. And assessed value is generally under the actual market value. I don't know if it's as bad in the US as here, but the price of housing is just crazy in Canada right now. My wife and I bought a house two years ago and could never even consider it today. I feel for young families starting out in life and realizing that their dream of a small house in which to raise their brood is out of reach for the foreseeable future. And because of what? Scarcity of homes? Not really. It's in part due to certain well-off individuals who can afford to own multiple houses and prefer to keep them empty (as an investment) or to use them to make serious Airbnb money. I wouldn't be against a law increasing taxes on houses that are purposefully kept empty!

If you need a new groove, may I in the most literal sense of that suggest Herbie Hancock's Man-Child. Less talked about than Head Hunters and Thrust (which are stellar albums as well), but this one has an extra dose of funkiness right out of the gate:

I’m gonna give it a listen today. Thanks man.

Well that's a huge pitfall. I have no idea what genres or music styles you prefer. That's like going to the doctor and asking for a new pill without identifying any of your symptoms.
In other words, I don't want to suggest a Flintstones comic when you are looking for another Kingdom Come.

Not at all. I’m willing to try any music. I was a musician back in the day and listen to classical music from Time to time.

I NEED A NEW GROVE!! ha, please suggest your favorite albums so that I don't have to keep listening to my playlist any more. In honor of buying concert tickets I recommend Dwight Yoakam's 1986 debut album " Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc." One of two debut albums that were also the best country albums of 1986 (the other was Steve Earle's "Guitar Town" which I also recommend). This album and Yoakam single-handedly revived the Bakersfield sound and it was a sonic boom that reverberated through country music for a very long time.

Not my usual tune but some songs were catchy.

Rateliff is excellent. His 2020 album (without the Night Sweats) "And It's Still Alright" was one of my favorites of that year.

I NEED A NEW GROVE!! ha, please suggest your favorite albums so that I don't have to keep listening to my playlist any more. Bambi Molesters:
Strunz & Farah
Sonny Rollins:
If you want more traditional rockers, I'd also suggest looking into the Jim Jones Revue and Gogol Bordello if you haven't already.
