I am shocked... shocked to learn that the guy wearing an Australian slouch hat in The Rat Patrol was not playing an actual Australian!
Granted, I only watched a dubbed version of something like one episode and a half all in all, but I had a toy Rat Patrol jeep as a kid and spent the past 50 years convinced that its driver was an Australian soldier. I suppose someone recognized the hat, told me that it was common in Australia, and that was that.
First Skippy turns out to be a female kangaroo, and now this...

I NEED A NEW GROVE!! ha, please suggest your favorite albums so that I don't have to keep listening to my playlist any more. Not sure what you like, but Rage Against the Machine seems to fit the current Zeitgeist. Might I suggest their second album, Evil Empire? It has a less-commercialized feel in general than most of their others. The music is funkier, less conventionally radio-friendly. Very groovy and funky.

Artist is Rage Against the Machine, album is Evil Empire. Though while you're at it, you might as well listen to their self-titled album as well. Both are killer and proving to be unfortunately just as relevant as ever.

On a given day, it's a toss up for me between their debut or EE, but lately I've been leaning toward EE.

Look for Tom Morello, who often plays a guitar that's emblazoned with the quote Woody Guthrie stuck on his in the 40s. Morello also has written other slogans, too, like “Arm The Homeless,” “Sendero Luminoso,” and “Soul Power."

If you wind up liking Tom Morello's guitar work, check out the version Of The Ghost of Tom Joad he did with Bruce Springsteen at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert. It's up on youtube...

I wasn't sure where to put this, so I decided to put it here. The Television Academy "The Interviews" is just a treasure trove of interviews with folks from across the television spectrum. So far I've watched interviews with Walter Cronkite, Roger Mudd, David Brinkley and Daniel Schorr. But it's not, by any means all news guys. I'm currently watching an interview with Batmobile designer and car customizer George Barris.

I'm by no means a car guy, but in my layman's opinion, cars have yet exceed how freaking cool they looked in that style and period.

I knew of Richard Dawson through old reruns of 70's era Family Feud on Game Show Network (probably one of my favorites next to Press Your Luck & Match Game), but it wasn't until years later that I saw Hogan's Heroes and noticed him playing a British soldier
I almost always see Europeans knocking us for doing poor imitations of English and Aussie accents, but whenever they do one of us, it's nothing more than a faux New Yorker type voice (Bob Hoskins for example)

My wife and I forgot about something this morning... Our 33rd anniversary!
Looks like we're both sleeping on the couch tonight. Which is fine, as we'll be together.

I love reading about long term committed relationships in these modern times of short attention spans and going after the next "new" thing including partners. 👍 👍
