Let's not dwell on other boards. We have a good group of people here to concentrate on. I..can't..keep..my..curmudgeonly..ways..in..check We can discuss entities like DC, Marvel & Taco Bell but CBR is verboten? And if so, maybe we can do without threads linking/promoting their articles and polls CBR would never let anyone create a thread to cross-promote this website. OK, I feel better now .

We should dwell on bananas instead. Is there really that much of a difference? Yellow on the outside, causing constipation on the inside.

If I link something from CBR (or Bleeding Cool, or Newsarama, or...) it is not to promote the site I link to, but because it is something about classic comics, comics creators, or a new project/product that people here might be interested in. This is a community centered around celebrating comics and those types of discussions and links are germane to who we are.
Complaining about other sites (whether CBR or otherwise) is not celebrating classic comics and thus not germane to who we are. However we are all human and get frustrated and need to vent once in a while, but that venting should not define who we are or dominate the conversation. It sucks that the CBR forums are what they are now, and there's not much we can do about it. It's frustrating as all get out, I get that, and I empathize with those who have had to endure the effects of it, but let's not let that define who we are. That gives them way too much influence and power over us and the conversation about comics.

CBR discussion is certainly not forbidden. Even the occasional complaint isn't. But dwelling on the complaints starts getting too negative and we don't want any bad feelings between us and our former home. Also nothing wrong with linking to their polls and articles, they have a lot of good information there. I look at their articles almost every day. There's no "us and them" just "us and more of us who like comics".

We should dwell on bananas instead. We should indeed. Let's all concentrate on crushing them like the consummate evil that they are.

If Texas had monkeys, I would feel infinitely more kindly toward Texas.

If Texas had monkeys, I would feel infinitely more kindly toward Texas. I'd call Ted Cruz a monkey, but monkeys are actually useful.

If Texas had monkeys, I would feel infinitely more kindly toward Texas. Contrary to the comics ads from way back when, monkeys are largely nasty creatures. They bide their time waiting for the opportunity to bite or pee on you. Unless of course they're large enough to try to kill you. Plus there's the whole banana breath thing.
