I have to admit she does have creativity and patience to make that outfit out of ordinary wool yarn. I was stunned to see that photo that the4thpip provided us to see.

As of today, I own my first house.
On Monday, the comic books arrive. They have been in storage for over 18 months, while I have wandered the globe.
I look forward to seeing them again.

Are you already moved in? I will probably start sleeping there on Sunday. My bed in still in my old apartment. My current apartment is pretty sparse. Just a bed, TV, and a few other things. Only lived here 2 months. Never really unpacked or moved in. The bulk of my possessions have been in storage since 2013. When they arrive on Monday, I'll feel moved in. But there will still be furniture to buy.

Congrats. Welcome to the joys and headaches of home ownership. It's a trade-in. I once spent 5 years in court with a former landlady.

I haven't owned a home yet. The present landlord I have is good at his job, more or less, but the people that own the house we are in refuse to do anything that requires spending money, and the plumbing is seriously lacking. One of those things that a renter may not find out, like we did, until we move in. It's really the only reason to get out of this house eventually once, we can comfortably do so. Despite a few sour experiences, I personally would rather rent. I have enough responsibilities as it is, I don't want more. And renting seems a lot less stressful to me than owning a home.

As of today, I own my first house. On Monday, the comic books arrive. They have been in storage for over 18 months, while I have wandered the globe. I look forward to seeing them again. I'm planning to buy my first home with my girlfriend this summer/autumn. It's quite daunting, but exciting at the same time. We've lived in the little cottage that we're planning to buy for the last 6 months. My Mum currently owns it and rents it out, you see, and she's renting it to us presently and we're planning to buy it from her. I'm a loooooong time renter and it makes me wince to think of the money that I've basically thrown away over the years on rent (I mean, yeah, I got a roof over my head for that money, but nothing's ever actually been mine, so to speak). Luckily, I earn a decent living from my music and my gf's job is extremely well paid, so hopefully we'll be able to get a pretty small mortgage because our deposit will be so big (we both have a big wadge of savings each). So, hopefully we'll get that fully paid off within a decade or so. But anyway, congrats on the home ownership, Chris. I sincerely wish you all the best and lots of happiness in your hew home.

I'm starting to really hate my job at Pizza Hut. I requested a transfer out of that store and was denied supposedly because the manager can't afford to lose me. I'm only scheduled 16 hours a week, and there's 6 or 7 other drivers with similar hours. She could easily stand to lose me, except I'm one of only two drivers worth a damn, so they schedule me on days when a lot of work needs to be done. Cleaning ceiling vents, scrubbing prep equipment, or doing massive prep for the next several busy delivery days. Which of course means I work harder and at a faster pace than nearly any other driver, and also now means I don't work the good tip days where no prep is done because deliveries are so busy. My income has dropped significantly after losing the weekend closing shift. About $600 a month less now.
But my day job has picked up. Not enough to quit this job, but more than before. I work a day or two a week there. My finances are not any better though, because I call in sick at Pizza Hut every moment I can afford to. Like today. I'm actually thinking of scheduling a doctors appointment to tell him I'm depressed. If it weren't for this job I wouldn't be, but maybe he has some kind of pill that can help me put up with this bullshit without going viral on Youtube when I lose it and quit.

I could not work in the food industry. I'm waiting 12 minutes to get two Little Ceasars pizza! 12 minutes! And the three people behind me act like the world is going to collapse on their precious little insignificant timeline of life cause their pizza isn't ready NOW! Ugh.

I could not work in the food industry. Most ppl are entitled g__d___m, f____g impatient jerks! I'm waiting 12 minutes to get two Little Ceasars pizza! 12 minutes! And the three people behind me act like the world is going to collapse on their precious little insignificant timeline of life cause their pizza isn't ready NOW! Ugh. Americans. Well to be fair, Little Caesar's does market the pizza as being ready for you when you walk in, and that is the reason why some people go there. If you advertise it's hot and ready when you walk in and sell the pizza on those points shaping people's expectations, then you best meet those expectations. It's not unfair for people to have those expectations if you have told them that is what to expect. -M
