Impressive that you had the self-control to do that, dan. Seriously. Good for you. Now go home and punch something. My favorite for stress relief is the Dynasty Warriors.... something about taking on a thousand or so peons and obliterating them with a hugely oversized weapon always makes me feel better. Sigmund Freud would have a field day with you, my friend.

I prefer video games My favorite for stress relief is the Dynasty Warriors.... something about taking on a thousand or so peons and obliterating them with a hugely oversized weapon always makes me feel better. I know some prefer explosions and more modern-ish stuff (which also works). Spunds therapeutic, yes. Of course, video games might as well be ... I have no idea what ... ... quadratic equations to me -- something I have absolutely no interest in, knowledge of or aptitude for. *sigh*

My last job I had a real dick of a supervisor. He was that way to everyone of the assembly workers. But them customer service gals could do no wrong. To the point that three of the four them were b___s to the assembly workers cause they knew he'd take their side. It made the job miserable to the point I was literally sick and nauseous, had (as my wife told me they were) panic attacks, and even talked to a psychiatrist and took a pill. He was transferred to another location about 4-6 weeks before I finally found another job. While I didn't want to stay at that job finding out the dirt I did on the lying, deceitful, scumbag, sack of ____ the owner was, that supervisor being gone really made the last bit of that horrible two years a bit more bearable. And at the time I could find no better paying job. But I had a family to take care that can't take care of themselves financially so sucking it up is easy to say but not always easy to do. Sorry you have to go through this Dan. I don't know why people have to be dicks at work.

I saw B. B. in around 2001 with my brother-in-law. He put on a great show still. And Shemekia Copeland was phenomenal opening for him. One of the legends I'm happy I can say I saw and one of the great entertainers or our time.

It's impossible, I'm sure.

I am happy I got to see BB King about 7 or 8 years ago. Even 80-something at the time, diabetic and sitting in a chair throughout the performance, we still had a captivating presence and charisma. What a great entertainer and classic musician. RIP, good Sir. It's impressive he made it to 89 years old with diabetes, no less. Sorry for everyone's stress. Must be that season, but thankfully seasons change in short order. My preferred stress release activities are exercise (running/weights), video games, and playing my poorly neglected guitar. It's never too late to start with any of those, and while I may be biased, I recommend each! Hang in there, all. Good vibes going your way.

Not long before he died I saw Ray Charles and B.B and it was a fantastic show and I saw B.B again I think five years ago and it was great too.

So my crafty friend finds this fabric: And she contacts me and asks me if I want her to make some collars for my dogs out of it, and well, YEAH. But then she says that she is going to also order it in this really soft fabric so that she can make me a blanket out of it, so that whenever people are jerks, I can just wrap myself up in a Bowie cocoon and not emerge until they are nice again. That is one of the most beautiful and thoughtful things anyone has ever said to me. I might have cried a little. I think your cool

One of my fondest memories of B.B. King is this hilarious vignette in the under-rated Amazon Women on the Moon, with a young David Alan Grier:
Sad to hear of his passing. A true legend.

RIP BB. Been a fan for a long time but never saw him live.
Two semi-trivial things I know about B.B. King:
- His first name was Riley. 'B.B.' stood for "Blues Boy", his nickname when he was a radio DJ in Memphis.
- He didn't play and sing at the same time. He'd sing a verse, then play a solo, then sing the next verse, etc.
I'm not absolutely certain of the latter; I read it somewhere but have not watched enough of his performances.
