Checking in from the Seoroquel fogbank for a moment. (Exaggerating ... sort of.) There's probably no variety of fun more utterly enjoyable than being unable to function at full mental capacity at work but not daring tell your boss the details because she's a complete idiot & if she heard the dread term bipolar would automatically think of Norman Bates or Jason Voorhees. (If, that is, she even knows the word. She'd never heard the term PTSD when I mentioned it a few weeks ago, after all. And we work on an Air Force base.) One indicated use of the med is for insomnia, & I've told her that's why I'm taking it. (Another use is for psychosis, which is not ... yet.)
Not that she remembers from day to day or even minute to minute anything we've talked about -- along with being clueless* she also has less of an attention span than a gnat. Probably those two tendencies only reinforce one another.
Yes, I need a vacation. Yes, I have about 25 days in the bank, as it were. No, I can't take one right now. I'm in the midst of proofing magazine pages even as I type. We've already blown the hell out of deadline.
Not sure if I need a new job or a new boss, but neither will happen. Not sure how close I am to stroking out, but I can see it off on the horizon somewhere. *sigh*
*Not just me being mean. Please, everyone -- remember such hits as "How do I find Google?", "Does 'Obama' have an apostrophe?" (not once but twice, of course) & "What time is it there? ... OK, what time is it here?"

Hang in there, Dan. This too shall pass.
I find myself saying that a lot recently.

Most things can be cured with a good enema or schtup. Or maybe both in any order that's comfortable

Speaking from experience? Thankfully, no. Just a profoundly disturbed imagination.

Does kickstarter work for helping me pay my rent or utilities?

Does kickstarter work for helping me pay my rent or utilities? GoFundme might. I saw the term crowdfunding and thought between that and kickstarter how much money do people have for entertainment? Maybe I could find a loophole for my own benefit. (I think I did the wrong smiley to lighten the comment. Thankfully my heads still above water.)

Go Fund Me has been used for at least one longtime former CBR member who was going through a very very hard time.

I hadn't heard of it before then.

At my nine year-old's first-ever swim meet tonight. So far, in her first event, she finished second, and she has one more to go.
She was really nervous about joining the team, so I couldn't be more proud that she actually put herself out there and gave it a shot.

GoFUndMe, along of course with the amazing generosity of a remarkable number of friends, is the reason I now have a full set of security doors (previously only one of my 3 doors fit that category) & a home security system in place.

Most things can be cured with a good enema or schtup. Or maybe both in any order that's comfortable Unfortunately, the former is far more likely to happen for me (since I see a new GI in a couple of months) than the latter. I have all sorts of female friends, apparently, but sadly they're all smart enough to keep their distance from me. *sigh*

Hang in there, Dan. This too shall pass. I find myself saying that a lot recently. Unfortunately, I know better. Highlight of late-afternoon meeting about 4 hours ago -- "What does 'desist' mean? How do you spell it?" The only passing that needs to occur is by that useless piece of crap. I'd bet money, though, that even at 64 -- her age now -- she'll still be ensconced in her do-nothing position when I'm dead. If I ever find out how much more money she makes than I do, I know it'll be a race between my heart & brain as to which explodes first.
