Hang in there, Dan. This too shall pass. I find myself saying that a lot recently. Unfortunately, I know better. Highlight of late-afternoon meeting about 4 hours ago -- "What does 'desist' mean? How do you spell it?" The only passing that needs to occur is by that useless piece of crap. I'd bet money, though, that even at 64 -- her age now -- she'll still be ensconced in her do-nothing position when I'm dead. If I ever find out how much more money she makes than I do, I know it'll be a race between my heart & brain as to which explodes first. Stay Strong friend .

Beat an opponent in chess in 53 moves and felt awesome... then got trashed by an 11 yr old girl in 22 I'm fair-to-middling at chess but I colossally suck at checkers. I've been beaten by three-year-olds... that I taught how to play... the same day I taught them. I actually won a trophy at a high school friend's legendary New Years Eve parties for Worst Player in the History of Checkers. It's kinda pathetic, truthfully. Cei-U! I summon my no-longer-secret shame!

Can't go into any details just yet but there is hope on the horizon regarding my manual wheelchair situation. I'll know more in two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Cei-U! I summon the very cautious optimism!

I honestly hate it when I see a cockroach approaching my comic book room.
And the little monster runs so fast, took me 5 minutes to get him out then splat him with a shoe and flush the carcass down the loo.

Kill it with fir... er... no, considering there are comics present, perhaps poison would be better suited.

Because I'd be infested. I cannot kill bugs, and it's not because I'm nice. It's because I cannot STAND the crunch sound of their exoskeleton and then the splat of their innards.

Yay. My problem of having too much spare cash -- I was actually considering an order to Mile High this weekend -- took care of itself this a.m. when Bucky's $28 semimonthly shot for, basically, dermatitis turned into a $209+ bill for a fancy-ass anti-fungal ointment, pills & a couple of cultures.
And to think I was going to call the computer guy to see if the other laptop is ready, which would allow me to use it while I get a new screen put in this one before it drives me even further around the damned bend. Son of a damned gun.

Saw Willie Nelson last night. Good show for a man who is 82 years old. I'm very glad I got to see him before he dies and very happy that he's still performing at a high level.
But honestly I was possibly more excited to see Dan Tyminski again...and I was definitely more excited to see Jerry Douglas, arguably the greatest dobro player alive. That...was outstanding.

As I wait in the line at the grocery store staring at the magazine rack I realize people are way to concern about celebrity's lives.

I saw him perform at a concert in 2009 performing with Wynton Marsalis in March 15 - North Myrtle Beach, SC - House of Blues and he was great.
