So my car that has been in the shop for three years had it's final panels painted today, and it's ready to come home. I cannot wait to have it back in my possession again. I am going to seriously pursue that second job as a cab driver now so I can start dumping some serious money into this thing again

So I'm having it shipped back ASAP and will hopefully start on chroming all the exterior pieces soon.

Sigh, one of the few books I really want to add to my personal collection is the Weird Tales issue where Conan debuted. Currently a 2.0 copy with a 2 1/4 inch spine split from the top went up for auction on the Lonestar/Mycomicshop auction, bidding opened today and runs for a week. It's already bid up to $202 and change with 24 bids placed on the first day.I have no sense of what pricing on pulps should be (there's no Overstreet to refer to, very few go up for auction to get a sense of it-this is the first time it's gone up for auction on Lonestar), but seeing this I have realized it is likely one holy grail I will never actually acquire. Ah well, so be it, such is life-it really is a small thing in the scheme of thing, but it's always a little bleaker when a dream dies, no matter how improbable it is.

I saw the first two Terminator movies back in the day and thought they were both rubbish. The popularity of the franchise is a real head-scratcher for me. I just don't see the appeal. Runs aways, ducking thrown rocks...If you didn't like the good ones you're going to hate everything that came out since Or maybe love them: maybe their polarity has been reversed?

Staples were removed today. The surgeon obviously liked what he saw, to the point that basically my main job from here pn out is making sure the incision stays clean & drains well & that I start recovering some energy. I could go back to work as early as Monday, he said, but I haven't decided whether to follow the "mental week off" approach or not -- god only knows, I've needed time off for a long, long time.

I can neither confirm nor deny that the staples will be used in ultra-special commemorative editions of Brother Power the Geek, BTW.

Did you get to keep the staples? May find a use for them even if Brother Power doesn't get published for some strange reason.
Also, TAKE THE WEEK OFF! Take every minute they'll give you.

Today was a little crazy. I was walking in to the clinic where I volunteer during the week when I was stopped by a security guard. She asked me who I was and I realized I had left my badge in the car. I told her I would run back and get it. As I was heading back to my car, I accidentally tripped over a large tree root in the ground and fell flat on my face. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that everyone in the clinic had seen my fall from the large window in the front of the building. When I came back inside, the secretary and security guard immediately started freaking out and asking me to fill out an accident report. I told them I was fine and only had a small scrape on my knee that wasn't even bleeding. The security guard was so worried that she even called in a doctor to come examine me. Luckily, the doctor told her the report was unnecessary, but the whole ordeal was a weird way to start the day.

Glad you weren't hurt.
