For some that are feeling a little burned out, I think it goes through peaks and valleys like most things. Oh definitely. When life takes over, comics can wait...I've liked them since I was 4 but there were a number of lulls in-between. Longest one - about 3 years. Unless there's a rarity of some sort, or some instant sellout, there's no real urgency to keep up. I never can. And if there's something of interest I missed on its initial release, it's there for the taking when I'm ready for it. Ditto to all the posts about our hobby. Last Sunday, I spent a good part of the afternoon organizing long and short boxes and cataloging the collection and it gets to be like a job. And Life definitely takes over , after all, we're not 12 years old anymore.

Here's a guy who's like a third rate Batman villain. For over 3 decades he makes the news for commandeering public transport and impersonating transit workers. Without fail, every few years, he pops up again and and again getting caught hijacking a train or a bus. A documentary was made about him and a feature film might be in the works as well. He doesn't do this for money, he just wants to drive public transports. nypost.com/2016/11/28/transit-bandit-appears-happy-in-court-rejects-another-plea-deal/

^I should check that documentary out some time. Though initially I just found the article amusing, I'm intrigued by the psychological aspect behind his motivations, especially because he's on the autistic spectrum. I know a couple folks who would likewise be interested in McCollum's story.

I have seen quite of few Santo Movies in the mid-late 70's and seen close to six of them and I just can't remember the titles of them. They were pretty good back then and I wouldn't mind seeing them today.

I walked in on my wife and son watching Flash and found out it and GA, Supergirl and another show are doing the Invasion! storyline in the shows when I heard "The Dominators". Now I think I'll watch GA with them tomorrow to see what they look like. Was kind of surprised they picked a rather obscure story to use to crossover the shows.

The perfect metaphor for my holiday spirit this season...
with Bambi as my holiday spirit and Godzilla representing the world around me...

Well, today is the day that my family finally cuts the cord and dumps our cable service. After pondering it for a while but not making any moves, we were finally motivated by an insert accompanying our latest bill from Comcast detailing another round of rate increases set to take place at the end of the year.
I signed up for Hulu and Netflix last night, both of whom are giving a free month of service, and we already had Amazon Prime. As for CW shows, I'll just stream them straight from their website, so the only thing I'll be missing is live sports, but I have enough other things to do to keep me occupied.
Perversely, I'm actually looking forward to dropping off my equipment this afternoon and getting to explain why I'm canceling my service, if only because I get a certain pleasure out of having salespeople make me ridiculous offers that have no chance of swaying my decision. It will be interesting to see what they come up with when faced with the loss of yet another customer who has had it with their ever-increasing rates and fees while the actual service doesn't change.

I came within a hair of changing my cable from Direct TV to Fios but DT threw many extras at my wife and lowered the bill, so we stayed with them. I love when companies fight for your business. Free competition is what makes America great. L

Free competition is what makes America great. L The problem for us is that we had access to FIOS TV at our previous house, so we could bundle everything and get the package savings, but at our current residence, the only option for cable is Comcast and we didn't want to go through the hassle of changing all of our e-mail addresses again, so we have Verizon for internet and home phone (soon to be eliminated) and Comcast for cable. If I could bundle with Verizon, I probably would keep the cable just for the convenience, but that's not an option for the foreseeable future.

Most of my family has done this but I can't convince my wife. She's the most I'm-not-going-to-change person I've ever met in my life.
She knows we're overpaying, but she wants to keep it the way it is. It works and she's used to it and doesn't want to go through the hassle.

I set up a meetup with a girl I've been talking to for Sunday. We've met up twice before, but they were very casual hang outs (once for coffee and once over dinner). The conversation was good both times, but I'm unsure what she feels so far. Hopefully I can figure it out this time.

Or you could not worry about what she feels and just have a good time with a cool chick.
