LOL! We need more women around here. Or, at least, more folks who wear makeup. I like painting my wife's nails. And if it weren't so unsocially acceptable I'd paint mine. She's got some damn awesome colors. Many of them picked out by me. :-) Nothing wrong with that. Go for it.

And now that it's been seen I must now place it under lock and key! Serious question: Is that actually used as a spatula? It looks awfully small in the pic. If that is for real, I need one. Where did you get it?

Between earrings and long hair (off and on, it's short now) I imagined if I came to work with painted nails it'd be too much. One of those "how the customer perceives you" deals. I've had jobs that didn't allow men earring, long hair or beards. And that was in St Louis, not here in the Bible Belt. I'd be such a Jezebel if I wore nail paint to work. :-)

Where did you get it? It is on the smaller side but it's big enough that it's actually functional although I only use it for taking cookies off their sheets and stuff like that because I had a Kermit one that was similar and it got ruined through actual use. I don't know if it was the heat of the an or the grease or what but it got all pitted and discolored and Ms. Kitty is way too pretty to have that happen to so she's strictly a baking tool. I got mine a Le Gourmet Chef at the mall so if you have one of those around check there.

I found other cute Hello Kitty kitchenware, which got me thinking that I might find other characters in kitchen utensils. Then I found myself thinking about how this is now something I really have to think over before just purchasing, because knowing me, I'll end up with 80 character spatulas.

It is very addictive, but I know from experience there are various support groups I had like 20 at one point but through various moves and cooking accidents I'm down to like 5.

The first man I ever saw wearing nail polish was the late cartoonist Vaughn Bode, creator of Cheech Wizard. It was at a con in New York, and his nails were light blue. Even in a crowd of comics people, he stood out as one of the freakiest.

Meet Vaughn Bode... and a sample of his stuff (I had to look for a bit to find one that wasn't NSFW)... nail polish might have been one of the more normal things about the dude... -M

The nails were just part of the reason - he had long hair, lots of jewelry and exotic clothes - a rather androgynous look. Google found some pictures of him:

He looks like Marc Bolan in that pic. And that hat almost looks like Marc's Slider hat. Whoa.
