I'm not familiar with this actresa, but she is quite fetching. My go-to redhead is Karen Gillan, BTW. She's very lovely, and she has the Scottish accent going for her as well. Scottish actresses? My favorite might be Alison O'Donnell from Shetland. That's her in the Fjallraven parka. Duh. I haven't watched much Doctor Who lately, but I would if Alison was in it. Is there ever going to be woman Doctor Who, I wonder.... This is the funniest picture I could find of Alison O'Donnell: "I am the Doctor and these are my companions; Squeegie, Tookie and Weezy."She adorable, and the kitties are the cute as well.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm at work right now. Classes are over. There's no one on campus. No one told me I have to be here today. I think it's going to be a short day.

Chromecasts are on sale for $25 dollars this week and I'm thinking about getting one. Has anyone used one? Pros and cons? I work in electronics!! Hang on let me assist! So most people who come through buy either Roku, Chrome or ask about the Firestick. Unfortunately, we don't sell Firesticks. Most people who go with Roku only do so because the top ones come with remotes. You can purchase a remote separately though for chrome I think. I've never had a customer return a chrome though or come back to complain. Not saying they're the best, but I haven't heard otherwise. According to reviews that I've given customers from online and from other customers, it's user friendly, very durable, sleek design. Simple set up too. And that's all good for the price of $35. Honestly getting them on sale is probably a good idea that's my opinion, you don't have to take it though Thank you! I picked one up today after I left work. It was super easy to set up. So far, it looks like it was a great pick up.

No. DC does nothing like this unfortunately. I've had Marvel Unlimited for about a year and a half, I would sign up for a DC equivalent in a heartbeat, but they prefer to leave that money on the table. If your library has the right digital periodical provider, you might find some DC stuff there digitally for free though. -M

Copying my FB status update just now ...
Well, it was a nice run. Looks like my 17 years or so of life without corrective lenses (I wore glasses from 16-21, then contacts from 22-40ish) will be ending shortly. Saw the optometrist this a.m.; contact lens fitting appointment is Friday a.m. (If memory serves, that doesn't usually require another session with a specialist, but I've got a case of corneal keratitis [that will require surgery at some point] that apparently complicates things somewhat.)

Sorry to hear that, Dan. Personally, I love my glasses. They can be annoying at times (rain, fogging) but I absolutely cannot stand the idea of putting anything directly on my eyeballs, and I've heard so many horror stories about those things rolling behind people's eyes and such. My glasses have become a part of my face. I think that's kind of cool that I can customize a part of my face without permanent surgery

The optometrist this morning made reference to my getting a backup pair of glasses, so I guess I'll get a chance to see what I look like these days with them. Seems a crime, though, to alter my godlike handsomeness in any way.
To be honest, I was mildly surprised that I had no problems getting used to contacts after my first wife got me a pair -- that is, made the requisite appointments with the optometrist at JC Penney in Phoenix -- for my 21st birthday. There was the time, while I was still wearing them for limited periods, that one came out in a darkened theater during a Halloween screening of a few old movies (Mr. X, Vampyr, Freaks ... maybe something else), but somehow I detected it on the floor.

Work sent out notice this morning that due to financial expectations for 2016 coming out poorer than they thought they are granting a one time cash out of PTO hours as long as you maintain 40 hours balance. So essentially a pa out with current exchange rates and taxing means for 100 hours cash out you can receive approximately $450-$475. Thanks but no thanks. Think i will pass and just use my PTO as it is meant and receive the full benefit of time off and being paid my full paycheck for that time i am off.

My most vivid memory from when I first got glasses in the middle of 10th grade was having them fitted at the optometrist's in Texarkana, then walking a couple of blocks to my favorite used bookstore, which also happened to be the first place I ever encountered back issues. If memory serves, a few Tales to Astonishes had come in, & I recall marveling at how much smaller than usual the dimensions seemed ...

I've never tried contacts simply because I can't stand the thought of sticking things in my eyes. Glasses are as close as I want anything to them.

I remember being in Western Iowa and getting my first pair in the mail. We didn't trust small town medicine and always drove the 70 miles to Omaha and kind of made an event out of being in The City - went shopping, saw family, had some decent meals...
I put them on and I distinctly remember it was autumn and it was like a scene out of a movie with me running around and being amazed looking at the beautiful colors of leaves.
That was in high school. Of course I thought contacts would be better, and I got those later, but they were a real pain, scrubbing them every night and sterilizing them. 1 pair lasted a month and they were expensive.
Later, I went back to glasses. I've had some dailies but more for special occasions. Frankly, I think my face is more suited to glasses, but as a teenager, I was working and sweating a lot and they slipped a lot, which was annoying.
