I remember being in Western Iowa and getting my first pair in the mail. We didn't trust small town medicine and always drove the 70 miles to Omaha and kind of made an event out of being in The City - went shopping, saw family, had some decent meals... I put them on and I distinctly remember it was autumn and it was like a scene out of a movie with me running around and being amazed looking at the beautiful colors of leaves. That was in high school. Of course I thought contacts would be better, and I got those later, but they were a real pain, scrubbing them every night and sterilizing them. 1 pair lasted a month and they were expensive. Later, I went back to glasses. I've had some dailies but more for special occasions. Frankly, I think my face is more suited to glasses, but as a teenager, I was working and sweating a lot and they slipped a lot, which was annoying. Now that is how you get glasses ,shopping, good meals etc you sir are awesome

I went from running and breaking fevers all night Monday, and during the day on Tuesday, with a horrible chest cough, to feeling a bit better yesterday with only slight body aches, but still the effects of a chest cold and my head paining me in various places, and gland soreness behind my ears/base of head. To today where the cough is slightly less in my chest, the gland soreness is less, but I am still coughing and now sneezing a lot. I am taking a break because I will feel horribly sick come this evening if I do not.
I still feel weak. Ugh. This is a chest cold/head cold/some-kind-of-cold/PLAGUE.
Fevers are the worst.

We drove over to Texarkana from my hometown (about 35 miles to the east) for any & all optical needs because for whatever reason prices were considerably lower in Texas, but it didn't hurt that the place to eat in the area (it's still local native Ross Perot's favorite restaurant, I'm told) was literally around the corner. (Happily, the same place, relocated decades ago from downtown, happened to be sitting across the interstate from my hotel last week.) And another block or so away was the used bookstore I mentioned -- first place I ever found & bought back issues. And I first got my glasses in the fall, too. I remember thinking how fascinatingly detailed tree bark was.

Try dancing to this or maybe just listen, it makes me feel better, when I'm sick: I will have to listen when I get to a computer. ♡

Copying my FB status update just now ... Well, it was a nice run. Looks like my 17 years or so of life without corrective lenses (I wore glasses from 16-21, then contacts from 22-40ish) will be ending shortly. Saw the optometrist this a.m.; contact lens fitting appointment is Friday a.m. (If memory serves, that doesn't usually require another session with a specialist, but I've got a case of corneal keratitis [that will require surgery at some point] that apparently complicates things somewhat.) Sorry to hear that, Dan. Personally, I love my glasses. They can be annoying at times (rain, fogging) but I absolutely cannot stand the idea of putting anything directly on my eyeballs, and I've heard so many horror stories about those things rolling behind people's eyes and such. My glasses have become a part of my face. I think that's kind of cool that I can customize a part of my face without permanent surgery Plus remember, when you take the glasses off , no one can recognize you. It's called the Clark Kent effect.

I've been going around all day today thinking it was Friday. I did everything today that I would normally do on a Friday and now I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow.

I just got new glasses 2 weeks ago and when I picked out the frames my wife called them "Clark Kent" glasses because of the way they looked (which was quite different than the last style of frames I had on the pair I was exchanging them for). I've worn glasses since the 5th grade, and count me among those who never had contacts because I can't stand anything near my eyeballs. I have trouble putting eye drops in because the thought of the drop touching my eyeball makes me literally squirm uncontrollably. -M

I work in electronics!! Hang on let me assist! So most people who come through buy either Roku, Chrome or ask about the Firestick. Unfortunately, we don't sell Firesticks. Most people who go with Roku only do so because the top ones come with remotes. You can purchase a remote separately though for chrome I think. I've never had a customer return a chrome though or come back to complain. Not saying they're the best, but I haven't heard otherwise. According to reviews that I've given customers from online and from other customers, it's user friendly, very durable, sleek design. Simple set up too. And that's all good for the price of $35. Honestly getting them on sale is probably a good idea that's my opinion, you don't have to take it though Thank you! I picked one up today after I left work. It was super easy to set up. So far, it looks like it was a great pick up. I'm super glad!! you're very welcome! How is it so far since you had it few days?

The optometrist I saw today decided after trying me out briefly with a "piggyback" lens arrangement -- soft lens on the eye, then hard lens on the soft lens, directly over the pupil (necessary because I've got a rather mild version of a condition that causes the cornea to slowly become cone-shaped, making a direct fit problematic) -- that the amount of correction would be too slight to justify the expense & effort. They'll re-evaluate me in a year. In the meantime, I'll soldier on with what I'm told is 20/30 vision, which I gather is pretty decent, all things considered.

How is it so far since you had it few days? So far so good. Controlling everything from my phone is great. It's so much better than having to worry about another remote.
