Here goes nothing! This is my first public posting using the speech recognition software on my computer. I finally bought a microphone, which is now properly installed, leaving me no more excuses for making a change I should have made long ago but was too damn stubborn to make without being forced. In that sense, my dental woes may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. It hasn't been easy the last few weeks staying off the computer, not being able to either work or play. I'm the kind of guy who has to feel productive on a daily basis. At any rate, I can get back to work on my book projects now so that's least one source of stress in my life gone. Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and let you guys know I was up and functioning again. Sometime in the next few days, I will work out the statistics and get the wrap up for Classic Comics Christmas 2016 posted. Cei-U! I summon the lightning… out loud! If this is an example of the program, then it's a success. Is it easy to use?

One of our dealer's customers got in touch with us today crying in despair.
He kept his comics, mostly bagged and boarded in cardboard boxes in a wooden cabinet. Supposed to be safe.
Not.
Termites ate away part of the cabinet...got into the boxes and started chewing through some of the comics. At least those bagged and boarded books with tiny spaces for them to crawl through as books which were sealed tight were spared.
Result. 53 comics destroyed. He's thankful that another 60 or so were spared but the bags have been stained and need to be replaced.
Everyone...please look over your storage every now and then to ensure your books are safe.

Back issue hunting this weekend was a bust. I went to a shop that isn't one of my usual stops and walked away empty handed. They had a good bit of Silver Age Daredevil for good prices ($8-$12/ issue), just nothing I was looking for. I'll definitely be back when I'm working on the early issues.
The real disappointment was lunch. The comic shop was across the street from what is supposed to be the best noodle place in the city. Everything tasted either like it was frozen or came out of a jar. Blah.

Monday's weather forecast for NYC shows a Nor'easter (I don't like the way it's spelled) storm hitting the city with all day heavy rains and winds up to 60 MPH.
Seeing that this is my last week of going to work, I think I'll just call in sick. Why not-they won't pay me for unused sick days. And I'm sure my farewell party will be held late in the week.

Got up to see my brothers in Lincoln and fought rain and heavy fog for about the last 150 miles or so, but all was ok.
My parents wanted me to store stuff at their place but the drive was too soft and with the weight of the U-Haul, got stuck along with the Auto Tow on the back that had carried the Toyota.
I'd gotten that off on the road before my attempt.
We tried again in the morning when the ground was frozen, and the truck was empty. Still couldn't get it. Had to call a local towing service.
Now I've got to sort through some stuff that wasn't packed as well as I'd like. Also came into town to the library to do some research and print without slowing down my parents horrible satellite internet any more than it already is.
Reading my Comixology I'd already downloaded since I have no signal at their place.
Good to see everyone again and Susan and I are mostly ok as we're going to stay in touch and stay positive even though we'll no longer be married.
