I'd like some recommendations on good, regularly updated blogs. I'm specifically looking blogs concerned with music, classic comics, or anything retro and 60s-flavoured. I already follow Diversions of the Groovy Kind, The Guardian's music blog, and Starlogged, but I'm looking for other suggestions to spice up the feed in my Bloglovin' app. Thanks.

The only one I follow regularly Mark Evanier posts pretty much every day. Good sense of humor, lots of comic insights as well as pop culture. His taste in music is probably not copacetic with yours. He also finds great videos to imbed . He's very retro and 60's oriented

I second the mention of Mark Evanier's blog. It's the only one I have bookmarked.
Cei-U! I summon the daily dose!

Happy First Day of Spring!* -M *unless you're one of our brethren who dwell south of the Equator, then happy first day of Autumn! Either way, let's hope this isn't your Equinox...

Had a bit of a minor culture shock at the weekend. Was in France for a couple of days, and happened to be in Lille on Sunday, which, in common with most of France, was pretty much shut, except for bods in hi-vis jackets everywhere, handing out newspapers. Wandered past Lille Flanders station and there's several 12-15' tall figures (with people inside to make them move - just like Jeux Sans Frontieres, for anyone who has seen and remembered that) and a band. Bemused, I wandered into the station, which was largely deserted, until suddenly a flash mob of mostly teenagerey girls and their mothers rushed in and started waving placards and chanting something about "eeriss".
It got a bit fraught in there for a few moments, with a serious crush building up, as some armed military escort pushed through to protect "eeriss", which turned out to be Ms Universe, Iris M(something), who is presumably a local, as the crowd went hysterical. Fortunately, the crush pushed through pretty quickly with no-one hurt and off she went for an open-top bus tour of the town.
But, my overarching feeling was basically, "what the frak??" In the UK, model contests are considered really tacky and pretty much ignored - in France, the winner is paraded through the streets with hysterical girls screeming at her - what a difference 25 miles of sea makes!
(And also - how really embarassing it would have been if the crush had been bad enough that I had ended up been hospitalised at fangasm event over some beaty queen)

In the midst of a bout of flu and sore throat. The medicine I'm taking for it really knocks me out. Have slept 20 hours within the last 24.
Had one very strange dream. I dreamed I was the manager to a cabaret act named the Florence Sisters who toured from city to city. But there was only one person in the act. She would always make up an excuse at the beginning of the show why her sister was not with her.

I know you guys are probably tired of hearing about my job hunting woes on the MMB, but you'll be happy to know that those blues have finally ended. I just received an internship offer from a HR and risk management consulting firm, as part of their benefits division! I'll be in their Atlanta office for the summer, so I don't have to stray too far from school. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go get wast- er, I mean celebrate!
