Man, I started something I don't want to finish. I have hundreds of comics to put away and now I'm getting lazy...

I would rather not wait the 10 minutes it takes for the credits to roll to watch them. What's your hurry? Slow down, man....stop and smell the roses. Actually, I'm always surprised at how many people dash out of the cinema as soon as the credits roll on a film...like it's a race to the car park or something! It's doubly confusing with the Marvel films because you would think that most fans of those films know by now that there's always a secret little scene at the very end of the credits. The last few Marvel films I've seen at the cinema ( Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War, and Guardians of the Galaxy), my girlfriend and I were the only people still sitting in the cinema when the Easter egg scene played. I mean, I'm not expecting everyone to be as interested in seeing them as I am, but out of a packed cinema audience, you'd think there would be more people than just me and my lady (who, to be fair, was only there because I wanted to stay) interested in watching the post-credits scene. Cinema tickets are damn expensive -- I want my money's worth! I check the interweb before going to a movie to see if there are scenes during or after the credits. There obviously are with the Marvel films (except Logan), but there also was with Kong of Skull Island. It's worth a few extra minutes to me to see them. But usually it's just my family and a couple of other people, even with the Marvel movies when everyone knows there is going to be something after the credits.

I always stay for the extra scenes but I wish they could show them BEFORE the credits roll. That would somewhat defeat the purpose though, since I assume that the whole point of the post-credits scenes is to make you stay and watch the credits. Of course, that was less of a chore before they started listing every single person who worked on the movie, including the catering crew.

Looks like I'll finally be wrapping up the 1941 chapter this week. I can't believe it's taken me nearly ten months to research and write (though, to be fair to myself, nearly four months of that was wasted dealing with my dental problems). It didn't help that I had to spend close to a month figuring out the REAL history of Fox Publications, as opposed to the misattributed credits, lazy guesses, and false assumptions that made up the Grand Comics Database's version of same. Any celebrating will have to be short-lived, alas, as I'll need to get started on 1942 tout suite.
Cei-U! Sure hopes future chapters go faster!

Are you doing the entire decade in one volume or dividing it in two as they did with the 60s, Kurt? Your toil will be our enjoyment, of course. Thanks for your diligence and enthusiasm!

As a life-long movie buff I was always in the habit of staying through the credits, sometimes to see if I coud figure out where a particular bit of music came from, or who played a certain character, or sometimes just to bas in the afterglow of a great movie - much to the annoyance of the theatre ushers or cleaners who understandably wanted everybody out so they could get their work done. So apart from liking the extra scenes in themselves, I like them because I no longer have to feel like a weirdo for wanting to stay through the credits.

Question for those with knowledge of living down in the southern states: if you were in a BBQ joint in Mississippi or Alabama, and they had Tamales on the menu, would the Tamales all automatically have meat in them? Or could you order them with, like, cheese and vegetarian chilli in them?
Attendant question, how easy (or not) is it to find vegetarian food in restaurants in the south?

I haven't lived in the south in a couple of decades, but then they looked at you really funny if you asked for anything vegetarian. I also never saw a BBQ joint with tamales on the menu.

Last night I was watching Master Chef: Kids , with my wife and the kids had to make Macaroons. One kid made his with Bacon inside. Maybe he was from the south?

Asked a friend from Virginia, but who has been all over the South. As to tamales, they're time consuming to make and are done in big batches. So if they aren't on the menu in non-veggie form you're not likely to get them. And they're pretty much just a thing in Mississippi and Louisiana and parts of Alabama. Then there's the Mexican tamales which are a thing in the southwest and west. As to vegetarian food, you should be fine if you're in a bigger city. In the hinterlands you may have a harder time. However, it is pretty traditional in the South to have two or even three vegetables with meals. So you may be able to get sides of veggies. Though it's also possible they may have been cooked with meat or with animal fat.

And they're pretty much just a thing in Mississippi and Louisiana and parts of Alabama. OK, that's helpful, Slam. So it's not like they could just make you up a few on the quick for me? The particular BBQ restaurant I was looking at was in Clarksdale, Mississippi, which is why they serve tamales, I guess. And yes, I realise that a BBQ joint might not be the best place to find vegetarian food. As to vegetarian food, you should be fine if you're in a bigger city. In the hinterlands you may have a harder time. However, it is pretty traditional in the South to have two or even three vegetables with meals. So you may be able to get sides of veggies. Yeah, that's all I was wondering really...do most restaurants in the south have a veggie option or two on the menu. I'm not after dedicated vegetarian restaurants or anything, but having a couple of options at anywhere I stop to eat would obviously be handy. Though it's also possible they may have been cooked with meat or with animal fat. Well, that is always something of a consideration, but I'm not that anal about it. You can only do your best, after all, so if I'm having a meat free dish, but parts of it may've been cooked on the same plate as a hamburger or something, I'm not gonna get all out of bed about it.
