Here's ProofThis is biasRead Prince Hal, Farrar, and berkley comments - they are taking about art first not content and that's bothers me a lot. I think everyone here needs to refrain from mentioning art from all contests alone.

Alf had a couple of cartoon spinoffs, which gives me an excuse to rig this election by posting some furry porn.

I think everyone here needs to refrain from mentioning art from all contests alone. Why? -M Why, it is biased to me is that you are favoring a certain artist like Wally Wood and make a comment about that cover shows that you are ignoring the rest of the covers that I feel should be considered in the first place. I see that all the time of which members here look for a particular artist and stick with that one. We should not be mentioning artists like Wally Wood in these contests that I feel it's tells me that you prefer Wally Wood art instead of the others that been posted mrp. That's alone is a no-no in my book and should not be posted in the first place. We need everyone to refrain from making comments about the member that you are voting for and that alone makes the contest valid if everyone does this and just type the member name would be acceptable in my book. Just don't mention the artist name like Wally Wood and I would be fine with it. This is my best explanation that I can come up with.

But why shouldn't art be a consideration? Why is art a no-no? IF there's no art this is what every cover looks like... comics are a visual medium, the visuals are art. Art is part and parcel of what a cover is. People have favorites. The contest asks you to vote for your favorite. How is having a favorite and voting for it a problem? Why do you get to determine how I choose what my favorite cover of the week is? -M

I think everyone here needs to refrain from mentioning art from all contests alone. It's not bias. It's an explanation of their thinking. You're taking a fun little thing that has been running here and before at CBR for a long long time and making it way too serious. We also used an avatar contest at the old CBR that was fun. Everyone just needs to relax. If it's not fun, then step aside don't participate.

I think everyone here needs to refrain from mentioning art from all contests alone. In a contest like this, the only way to eliminate bias is to post your cover and never discuss anything ever. To which I say, that is stupid. Discussion is why we are here. When I see someone say "I am voting Joe Blow for that great Wally Wood cover" I am learning because I did not know that. It helps me as a younger but classic comic collector.
Besides, most of the people mention other covers they liked as well which would help to eliminate their original so called biased pick. This will be my last post on this issue, you do what you must to be happy.

It's seems that no one seems to care about my own opinions anymore and why I want no references to the art of the cover and I feel that we are old enough to refrain from making any comments whatsoever. I decided to not to participate this contest anymore and having said that I feel that all members here do not care about my personal opinion and I may end up canceling this account here and leave Classic Comic Forum for good. My opinions are worth a can of beans anymore and I feel hurt, very hurt because I wanted everyone to understand that by keeping the voting process simple and not mentioning anything about the cover itself is what I wanted to get done to keep this contest more civil and right. I will not be voting on Tuesday and any other future contests. Sorry Everyone and that's my final outcome of it.

I would gently suggest that the fact that several members have posted thoughtful replies to you and engaged you politely on this topic is evidence that your opinion HAS been considered and IS valued; it is simply not shared by most of the participants. I see no malice here. There is nothing wrong with the contest you envision, but it is not THIS contest. Why not consider a contest of your own conception posted in a new thread? There is plenty of room here for a broad variety of viewpoints and approaches.

Okay, everyone ... I completely understand what Phil Maurice is saying here and understood what he means here; but I'm going to leave this contest the way it been running and take a defeat in a honorable way. I'm going to be gone for two months and working on other things as well. I just wanted to say this I'm frustrated why I can't make a simple change that I want to do in the first place and be done with?
I consider this matter closed.

I have to rethink my participating in the future and decided not to vote at all until next February when I decide to participate it or not. I'm concluding my business with the forum until February 1st, 2017. I'm offline for good and taking a break from this forum.
I'm open to PM's if you like and I try to respond to your PM's in a timely manner.
Respectfully Submitted,
Juggernaut.

I'll admit, I'm only human and I have a bias. If the cover has a picture of pudding on it, you win my vote. In fact, if you take a comic out of your collection, dump a glop of pudding on it, scan it and submit it for the contest, I'll vote for you an entire month.
