It's not that I'm incredibly cheap, but... okay, I don't know how to end that sentence. Let me just say that I'm in, but don't necessarily want to have to ship something overseas. Let's just say I think working out that logistical problem would come down to Santa (i.e. pfs17). If there is a way to pair up givers and receivers so shipping is done in such a way to minimize costs. So perhaps he pairs up members from the US with each other, members from Canada with each other, European members with each other (I am not sure how shipping b/w European nations compares to international shipping from Europe to the US or Canada though) to try to avoid some of the issues that come with overseas shipping. It might also allow for people to receive stuff before Christmas where international shipping might take longer... Just random thoughts... pinkfloydsound17 is taking on a lot by doing this at all and I don't want to dump more on his plate than he is willing or able to handle at this time of year, I appreciate that he is doing it at all. -M

You're not being cheap, it is just common sense. Plus, this is the heaviest mail volume time of the year. We have to start to mail things out soon.

I will try to do the best with that organization of who gets who. If you want it to be random, don't tell me what you like or don't like. A single comic exchanged is what I expect. As of now, I only have one person's info. Would like to get at least 10-12 to make it worthwhile so end it my way folks!
If we don't end up with enough, we will definitely keep in mind for future (and I will start it sooner too)

So far, 4 participants. Hoping to get at least 6 more to make it a nice amount. Again, if you are too busy or unable to, that is fine also. Even if it is a small start, perhaps it is something that can grow in coming seasons!

This sounds fun, but as I am in Ireland everybody would be overseas for me (and vice-versa) so the international postage costs would probably make the idea unviable. However, I do hope ye manage to sort something out and get cool Christmas pressies from your secret Santa, as it's a nice idea.

Just a thought for those facing international shipping and whatnot, there's also the gift of
digital
That keeps postage to $ 0.
Again, just a thought

Good idea, but how exactly do you gift a digital comic to another person?

Nevermind, I see that they have eGift cards on ComiXology in increments of $10.

Great idea on the digital!
5 people are in...I will extend til the end of the week but on Friday I would like to hopefully hand everyone who is in their person to "buy" for so that they can contemplate their gift over the weekend and send sometime next week. So if you want in, drop me a line!

Good idea, but how exactly do you gift a digital comic to another person? You could also open an account specifically for them at no cost with the item already purchased on that account

Well I think the numbers are a bit too small to go ahead with this...but I think it is something I will try to organize earlier next year to hopefully boost turnout.

I had thought that I'd sent you a PM with my intention to participate and my address, but checking through my PMs, it looks like I either did something to delete it before I sent it or that it was just a vivid dream that I'd sent it. Sorry all, and I take full responsibility for this not going off this year. Let me be the first to confirm for next year's Classic Comic Secret Santa (although if you wanted to be creative, we could have Christmas in June or something like that...)

Hey if you still want to be in, message me. It would give us six and that I think would be enough to run a nice little Secret Santa

Even if it's a small group I'd like to have it yet.
