Could this be done? A sort of festive exchange amongst members where we draw someone's name and mail a fellow member a classic comic? I am not sure if anyone would even be interested but consider this a thread to gauge interest.

What a novel idea! I would participate in something like this. The logistics may be daunting, though.

It can be done. It used to be done on the CBR Community Board.

I think it would involve posting our addresses...which some people may not like. Unless we have some form of draw and you find you who you have and just PM them. Kind of takes away the surprise but is more "safe" than posting a bunch of addresses.

Kind of takes away the surprise but is more "safe" than posting a bunch of addresses. The way they do it on the CGC forums is there's a guy who acts as Santa - he coordinates everything. So everyone who wants to participate PMs him their info, he randomly selects who is giving who what, and then he PMs people with the name and address of the recipient. That way it's still a secret to everyone. It's a lot of work for the guy playing Santa, though.

Well I would nominate myself as Santa, if there is enough interest. From here on out if you are in, PM me with your info. If we have a decent amount by Tuesday next week, I will proceed with handing out names by Thursday for who you are going to send a comic to.
If you want to in your PM even include your top 3 favourite superheroes/book types, I can use that to forward to the person who is your secret Santa. That way you get something you kind of want. Or not if you have no preference.

Would this be strictly floppies or would Trades be an option?

I think trades would be fine some form of comic/trade/comic related item you would part with in the giving fashion. Again, if people are in and send me like their top 3 things they like (Batman, Barbie and Micronauts for example) that would help their Secret Santa. If not, you still get a Christmas surprise.

I'd be in too.
When we draw a person's name, do we give them a trade of that character or something that's similar to that maybe they haven't tried ?
or do we say I hate Spawn, anything else is ok, etc ?
Maybe some would prefer a random bronze age comic instead of a trade paperback ?

One thing I think we should do is post pics of what you get when the package arrives to share the holiday fun with everyone here.

It's not that I'm incredibly cheap, but... okay, I don't know how to end that sentence.
Let me just say that I'm in, but don't necessarily want to have to ship something overseas.
