photos.silive.com/advance/2014/08/i_bet_you_didnt_know_gothams_a_6.html#incart_photoI am the Mailman for 75 Vanderbilt Avenue in Staten Island Nyc. Located at that address is a Psychiatric Hospital and a few weeks ago the driveway leading up to the entrance was blocked off and I saw maintenance workers repainting the lines on the ground for parking spaces. It wasn't til Thursday when they had film crews and huge trailers all around the grounds did I realize that some type of movie or show was using the Hospital. Today I found out from a friend In FB that it is for the Gotham TV show and the Hospital is going to be Arkham. Imagine that.

Does that make you a good guy or a villain? Too bad it's a Bruno Heller show, which means I won't be watching it, thanks to his Red John screw up. Still pretty cool, for you, thou.

I suspect it means you're going to suffer from some kind of head injury that turns you into a costumed villain who commits postal-themed crimes. I hope that works out for you.

I'm going to suffer all right, They have chained off the driveway that leads to the entrance of the Hospital so now I have to walk a half block each way to drop the mail off. Gotham? Bah Humbug.

Wow! Surprising that they'd use a building currently in use. Creedmore, in Queens, has been shut down for years now and is creepy as heck.

Be careful, that guy in the clown make up that's motioning you to come over may want to kill you and use your postal uniform as an escape disguise, and make sure any packages you pick up there aren't ticking....I might advise investing in a gas mask for delivering there just to be sure, that smiling corpse with the rictus grin won't look as good in the funeral pyre..... -M

Better yet, how about the "real" Arkham Asylum in Danvers Mass: complete with a cemetery: For those not in the know, this was the inspiration for H.P. Lovecraft's Arkham.

It's possible that they needed a functional are in the front of the Hospital or maybe it's too far away for the frequent schedule. I don't know what goes into choosing locations.

They should blow up that place in Queens to end the creepyness.

They should blow up that place in Queens to end the creepyness. Nah, they'll make it into luxury apartments, that's what has become of two of the most infamous asylums(Foxboro State Hospital and the Danvers Asylum) in Massachusetts. It's trendy.

I sub-letted an apartment inside the old Colt Firearms factory in Hartford (and it's unmistakable blue dome) for six months about 14-15 years ago, and a little arts community developed in the space because of the large size of the spaces, making it great studio space too. It became trendy and had a Village vibe in the city. It's nothing new to convert old industrial space/municipal buildings into "trendy" living spaces, it's been going on for a few decades now. -M

Great horror film potential! All these hipsters in luxury apartments waking up in the middle of the night to find their bed in the middle of a nightmarish institution, full of spirits not at rest.

Sounds like several movies I've seen over the last few years, actually.
