#26, Poison Ivy, Dr. Pamela Lillian IsleyGoing out of sequence in posting but, I just wanted to get "heads up" on Number 26, of which it is Poison Ivy of which it is next on my list of the Deadliest Villains in Batman's History and I wanted to share my thoughts on Uma Thurman's role of Poison Ivy in that ill-fated Movie of which George Clooney starred in back in the 90's and I have a hard time watching it at times because everything about it was cockeyed and wrong. Except the performance of Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy made it bearable to watch. I saw Batman and Robin when it first came out and though it was a horrible movie, it was kind of fun because the whole audience took part in shouting out jokes and making fun of this not-very-good movie. (It's a lot better than Batman Forever.) Years later, I came across it on cable and watched some of the Uma Thurman scenes. She is wildly entertaining! By far, the best thing about the Schumacher Batman movies. (And George Clooney is my favorite Batman aside from Adam West. It's too bad the movie was so bad!) I've been thinking about watching the whole movie again some time.

Most Shocking Stories of Batman Batman 318When, I read that issue it's makes ill and I have a hard time accepting it and I don't recall anything about it. To be honest, I read a very few adventures involving Catman and I'll share more on so that you all can get an handle on the. Very colorful, but one of most ridiculous costumes to date. More on Friday! I have more than 500 issues of Detective Comics and this is my favorite issue. And I love Detective #311! I got my own copy last fall. I love the giant robot cat, even if it's only functional for four panels. Plus, there's a scene where Catman robs a night club that has a gigantic statue of The Cat and the Fiddle outside and Catman fights Batwoman on the statue! (Also, the first appearance of Zook in the Martian Manhunter story.)

(Also, the first appearance of Zook in the Martian Manhunter story.) I know what you've mean here and I just find it too wild and really out of the ordinary Hoosier; and having said that I just find it impossible to love Catman and I just find the most recent incarnation difficult for me to swallow. I loved the Zook in the Martian Manhunter story - but the rest of it wasn't my cup of tea. The problem with Catman is that they DC Comics wanted a male version of Catwoman in a different light of things and destroyed the uniqueness of her altogether. That's why I don't like Catman and any of the stories that related to him. The whole angle of him, along with shocking change from Batwoman to Catwoman II - I call Kathy Kane version of Catwoman II and with that in mind back then I was facing two Catwomans and I hated it then and still hate it now because I've loved the Golden Age of Comics more than the Silver Age and Bronze Age Combined. This really not right to me and I'm sorry about the negativity of both Catman and Catwoman II and that's why I don't like Brown in any of the Characters because it's so out of place and seeing Catwoman in that disgusting outfit really makes my blood boil and that alone is right for me. I had to put him in this list because I heard that he is efficient, can counter Batman's moves quite well and most importantly can give Batman a run for his money back then and still does. More tomorrow and it will be short and sweet and I'm writing it now as I work on it.

I just watched that movie a month ago and I have to accept the fact that it was her - Uma Thuman was the real star of Batman and Robin - she made a horrible movie bearable to watch.

Catman RevisitedThe Cat-Man Strikes Back, DETECTIVE COMICS No. 318 (August ’62); story: Bill Finger; art: Jim Mooney. I loved Batwoman so much and this really broke my heart when she became Catwoman and allied herself to the Villainous Catman. That's was the MAJOR reason that I don't like this character at all. And, this book is the worst Detective Comic Book that I ever read in my entire life. Here's the final recap, one thing that I want to re-visit is that he got Catwoman very angry because he copied her "modus operandi" to the letter and even she (Catwoman) helped Batman on several occasions to get her name cleared because he implicated her on those crimes. That's one area that I felt that he is a cheater and a dangerous fraud that ever lived. Another thing, that bothers me and this is basically DC Comics undoing at the time that he uses "gimmicks" to do the crimes that he committed and did it with deadly precision that stunned me on couple occasions that makes a hardened criminal faints. And, that also makes Catwoman mad too because he basically copy her by stealing items along a "cat" theme, such as cat statues, "cat's eyes" emeralds, etc. He even had a Utility Belt like Batman and that alone makes me ill too. Too much a copy of Batman. And, not to mention that he even had a razor edged "catarang". That alone is too much for me to take and that's why I don't like this character too well. From WikipediaCatman is an Olympic-level athlete and skilled hand-to-hand combatant, able to hold his own against some of the most proficient beings and fighters in the DC universe, including Bronze Tiger, Batman, and an actual lion. He is also one of the world's foremost hunters and trackers, possessing an extraordinary sense of smell. Catman has claimed several times, both in his early appearances and modern ones, that his cape is mystical and able to restore mortal wounds. He was once the owner of a pet Siberian tiger named Rasputin, which was trained and helped him commit crimes. From Me
He is a Marvel Comics Version of Kraven The Hunter and I can see him being like him in more ways in one. The only thing that I forgot is that he had tiger name Rasputin and I thought it was a cool idea at the same time because Batman had a pet dog named Ace. From WikipediaIn 2013, ComicsAlliance ranked Catman as #9 on their list of the "50 Sexiest Male Characters in Comics”. From MeI was shocked to read that from Wikipedia and stunned by this.

From WikipediaIn 2013, ComicsAlliance ranked Catman as #9 on their list of the "50 Sexiest Male Characters in Comics”. From MeI was shocked to read that from Wikipedia and stunned by this. Gail Simone revived (and revised) Catman in The Secret Six, although I think it was a few years before 2013. I've never read these comics but I have come across references to it on comic book sites online. So that probably explains it. But remember, the Comics Alliance is kinda ... off sometimes. I like Ask Chris. But sometimes he says the dumbest crap, not just stuff I disagree with, but stuff that's factually wrong. I point it out in the comments, but so far, nothing I've said has improved his rather sloppy attention to detail or his arrogant attitude that things are true just because he says them.

Hoosier XI did not know that that Gail Simone worked on Secret Six using Catman. Interesting.

#24, The Riddler, Edward NigmaFirst Appearance: Detective Comics #140 I was very surprised to see it's that long for Detective Comics to introduce the Riddler as a villain for Batman and I just can't believe that it's took 140 Comics Books to mark the first appearance of the Prince of Puzzler. My Favorite Panel in Detective Comics #140 I just loved this panel that put the spotlight on the Riddler and it's was done just right. In my next post, I will share some things about the Actors that played him in Movie.

The Movie - Jim Carrey - Batman Forever 1995 MovieI'm was somewhat impressed by his acting but the costume at the end of the movie the one of the sparkling white and green question marks was too much for me to take and his mannerisms is a bit too outlandish for me to take. He did a great job in the basic stuff and got some of the Frank Gorshin in him and having said that I had some mixed feelings about the clues that he gave to Bruce Wayne and the way he did it wasn't memorable for me but the scene that he destroyed the Batcave was a shocking one indeed and his partnership with Two-Face was okay but I find Two Face more memorable than the Riddler. I thought Tommy Lee Jones was better than Jim Carrey but Jim Carrey was excellent in the parts of finding his identity as the Riddler when his likeness buzzes "Yes" repeatedly in the Amusement Park section in his domain. The Scene that he destroyed the Batcave - Shocking but Good. Overall, he did better than average job and brought several things to life and did good job in the beginning that I was hoping that he did a good job with it and the scene at the end of which he claimed to be Batman and confirmed by Chase Meridian the gorgeous female Doctor that was dating Bruce Wayne and all was poetic justice and I find it highly entertaining and put him in the driver seat and that's made it good. I give his total performance as the Riddler a solid B. This scene was excellent and his mannerisms was a bit too much for me to take but the way he solved the Riddle by Batman was pure genius. I find it to be quite entertaining and made the movie a bit bearable to watch. Tomorrow, the Two Riddlers from the Batman Television Show.

I love the Riddler so much. When I come across a Riddler story I haven't seen, with a classic battle of wits between Eddie and Batman, there is very little in the comic book world that makes me happier. My favorite Riddler story is the three-parter in Detective #705 to #707. I talked about the Riddler at length, this story in particular, on my old blog a few years ago. Why we love Detective Comics: The RiddlerThe handling of the Riddler has been spotty since the end of the Bronze Age. I did like that period where he was reformed and trying to be a private detective. And I adore Query and Echo! They are great.

Astin, John - Riddler in the 2nd Season of Batman#79 Batman's AnniversaryFebruary 8, 1967 #80 A Riddling ControversyFebruary 9, 1967 He was not as good as Frank Gorshin but brought a certain flair to his evil persona of which it was climaxed when Batman and Robin was standing on top of a giant cake and the cake was quicksand when the Caped Crusader finally figured out the clues that he provided for them to solve and solve the last minute before escaping using a modified (untested) bat-rockets from their boots. He was crafty enough to make Batman uneasy, brought a different kind of charm that most of us loved and most of all he was mischievous using a .98 cent flashlight that actually a weapon of fantastic means of disappearing into thin air that I find it one of the most unusual shows to date. John was great carrying that cane in style, developing a sense of pride in his work as the Riddler and most importantly he was very good in showing how predictable of Batman in the 2nd show of which Batman and Robin crashes through the windows and earmarked those cries of "Legendary Window Crashes" that made Batman and Robin famous. I like that and a great Bat-Fight and the Riddler and his stooges were captured and the rest of monies ear-marked for Batman's choice of charities was rightfully obtained and recovered and it's all ends well with the Dynamic Duo. I just find his approach was spot on and he did it the best that he could and nothing wrong that he did. I grade his performance as the Riddler in those two shows a B grade and he should be applauded for taking on the assignment for Frank Gorshin who made this role legendary. He had a tough act to follow and I wished he was given another chance to do that role on more time.

Gorshin, Frank - The Riddler in the 1st and 3rd Season of Batman and the Full Length Movie as WellFirst Season Eight EpisodesHi Diddle Riddle Smack in the Middle A Riddle a Day Keeps the Riddler Away When the Rat's Away the Mice Will PlayThe Ring of Wax Give 'Em the Axe Death in Slow Motion The Riddler's False Notion The Full Length Movie Third Season of BatmanRing Around the Riddler September 21, 1967 He was Legendary in this role and made him a household name as the crafty and villainous Riddler that says his riddles with a flair and ease that I was stunned how well he did it and did a great job mastering it and my favorite one of the 1st Season is one that was in Bold of where Batman deactivated the Bomb and Batman gave a Riddle for him to solve and the Riddler says - I've been out-riddled by own game. I just loved that part and Batman and Robin quickly disposed the Riddler and his men. Ano, not at least ... A spinning Battrap - that Robin once said ... Like a SuperSonic Roller Coaster! Man, I just loved that show. The opening show of which they had Jill St. John in was so great that it's set the series to a high note and that alone made Adam West a TV Legend overnight. He was perfect as the Opening Segment as the Riddler and that made him very special and I just loved they way these shows work in harmony together. As Disguised Robin Anyway, he was amazing and always be the best of the BEST and the Movie Performance was Excellent and brought the Riddler to life as being portrayed in all Batman's Comic Books. I can go on and on and on about his performance and every one of them were that good. His Grade A+

Favorite Riddler StoryI love the last panel when the Teacher announce that a prize is being awarded to the one that finish the puzzle first. 1st Crack ... 30 Minutes 2nd Crack ... 15 Minutes 3rd Crack ... 10 Minutes 4th Crack ... 5 Minutes Eventually won the Contest and discovered his true calling ... turning to cheating of which was his talent for. For all of you Query and Echo fans out there ... it's marked the first appearance of Query and Echo in this issue. Of which I did not know that until I researched it.
