This time, I couldn't just focus on long runs (at least a year), otherwise we'd be looking at just three choices.

The ones that Colan was artist.
My favorite "version" of DD was when he "enjoyed" being DD & every event wasn't mired in tragedy.

As of now, the only complete creative run of DD that I've read is the Miller run. As I work my way through Marvel's Silver Age it's going to be interesting to see if I prefer the Colon years. I did enjoy the first 12 issues or so of Waid's DD, so I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I prefer dark or happy DD.

Ozymandias, why don't you just start a thread and ask people what their Top Three Daredevil creative teams are... ever. Full stop. These limited option polls you have done for DD seem very selective and don't really prove much. Apart from what people prefer from the choices that you list.

ask people what their Top Three Daredevil creative teams are... ever. If I were to mix them, I would need to unify criteria: either long runs from the start (only three "classical" teams would be left) or short runs all the way through the 90's (that sounds like more work than I'm willing to do). Besides, how short a collaboration would you accept? The only non-discretional number would be "one", just one comic, is that really a team?

Don't bother with a poll, it probably would be too lengthy. Just ask the question... people can then answer in a post what Daredevil creative teams they prefer. You will get a fairer representation of people's favourite DD eras from whatever team(s) they liked, be it a long run or short run, as opposed to two [selective] polls, that still don't cover everything.

If someone else wants to keep the tally, I have no problem opening a third thread, for the "other" options. But just asking the question, without any kind of poll behind it, doesn't take advantage of one the nicest features, proBoards software has to offer.

Are you supposed to be able to vote for three choices, or just one? I'm only able to check one box, then it doesn't let me add the other two I wanted to include in my Top 3.

However, unless you include all the possible options (within reason) they can be skewered by what selections are chosen to be listed. After all, isn't that what media outlets and opinion pollsters do to get the results they like?!

I voted for Lee/Colan and my other two votes would have gone to Lee/Wood and Lee/Romita - the latter mainly out of nostalgia for the DD/Ka-Zar story, one of my favourites as a young reader.

If no one objects, I can delete the poll and set it up again. That wouldn't take long.

Everyone talks about the Frank Miller run but I think Miller's best work was before he started writing DD. Roger McKenzie never gets enough credit. Less we forget the classic 158 with I think a a much darker take on a C class villain Deathstalker. This issue kept me up at nights just thinking of him killing Cat-man and Gorilla-man.

In some ways I prefer Miller's artwork on those early issues, when Mckenzie was the writer. Later on it seemed to get more and more sketchy. There was some nice stuff, of course, but on the whole I like the more detailed and rendered look of those first few issues.

Everything after that was just not as good.
