With the release of the upcoming Kong sequel, a relative newcomer to the toy market is throwing their hat into the ring with a ine of Kong Toys and they look pretty cool. Lanard has long been makers of cheap rack toys but this is their first real excursion into the big time it looks like.

Hmm, I know as a giant gorilla there's only so much variation you can get as far as looks go in an action figure but aside from the mold of the face this looks exactly like one I got from the 2005 film except instead of a little soldier for Kong to much on it had a tiny villager.
The random monsters for Kong to fight do look cool though.

I picked up the Kong figure last week at Wallyworld. I have only seen the copter and gunboat additionally, not any of the other monsters. I like it a lot, until I saw someone over at the Mego Museum did a repaint on their Kong....
that darker color scheme looks so much better. I am tempted to break out my paints for D&D miniatures and try a repaint on mine now...
