Would "Young Fresh Fellows Theme" (and also "Young Fresh Fellows Update Theme") by Young Fresh Fellows count?
If they do, don't forget "(Theme From) The Monkees."

'Talk Talk' by Talk Talk is the only one I could think of besides 'In a Big Country'.

From the Science thread: we were talking about songs inspired by the Comet Kohoutek, which created something of a furor in the early 70s. I thought the Stampeders had one but can't find anything with a title sounds right, so i think I must have been thinking of this other track of theirs inspired by a different 70s pseudo-science fad:
and while I'm at it, here's the Argent song that was also mentioned:

I just posted a favorite track over there by early Journey titled Kohoutek. I get a lot of video unavailable messages when I try to play embedded videos outside youtube, but not always. The Stampeders plays but Argent and Journey won't. I can't even post a link to youtube either without it becoming an embedded player thing.
I have a lot of Stampeders (from Calgary) but can't think of any track about a comet.

Would "Young Fresh Fellows Theme" (and also "Young Fresh Fellows Update Theme") by Young Fresh Fellows count? I've seen some of the Seattle fellows and they are not so young and not so fresh these days, but aren't we all?

True, but I don't think printing "Middle-Aged Sell-By Date Fellows" on the tickets really packs the seats.

So Spotify does this thing where they tell you the songs you've listened to the most in the last year. And mostly I believe their numbers...though there are some that I have to question whether it be songs I don't think I listened to that much or ones that seem conspicuously absent. But...what the Hell. Let's see what Spotify says I listened to in 2018.
#100 - "Gettin' Gone" by The Two Dollar Pistols.
I love me some Two Dollar Pistols. And this is a great track, though I might have expected to see "There Goes My Baby" or "It Doesn't Matter Much to Me" instead. The Pistols were one of the criminally under-appreciated alt-country bands of the late 90s/early 2000s. Under the lead of John Howie, Jr. they gave us some great old-time honky-tonk/Bakersfield sounds.
Great start to the list.
This video is technically John Howie Jr. & the Sweethearts. The only version by The Pistols I could find online I didn't like nearly as well.

Most listened too songs of 2018.
#99 - Big Rock Candy Mountain - Harry McClintock
This is the first of two songs from the O Brother soundtrack. The other I rather expected. This one maybe not as much.
This is really a great song though. It both scratches the itch when I want something "old-timey" and when I get nostalgic about my boys being young. Connor used to sing this song all the time. Nothing like a little guy singing about alcohol "twickling down da wocks."

Most listened to songs of 2018.
#98 - "American Girl" - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
This was almost certainly because of the untimely death of Tom Petty late last year. Not that I don't enjoy his work...and it certainly shows up on a few of my playlists. But I certainly listened to Tom Petty more following his death than I would normally.

"It's a fool that looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart."

I can play the keyboard and recorder. I "dabble" in guitar and piano (I own neither, but do so due to the kindness of others). But I really want to play this: Source:

Most listened to song of 2018
#97 "Carmelita" - Warren Zevon
This one is me fixing Spotify. And there will be at least two more of these. The song that Spotify has here is a nice track by Johnny Gimbel with Dale Watson. And I remember listening to it a few times. But not that many. And not nearly as many as I have this track.
I never really listened to Warren Zevon. I knew of him. But his work just never seemed to be around or of a genre I was listening to. But this one came up as a suggestion at some point last year...and...DAMN!
The writing on this track absolutely blows me away. The story is well told and compelling and in your face. And the music perfectly compliments it. Just a great track that I've listened too a ton lately.

Sorry, but that might just be the ugliest guitar I've ever seen (which is saying something!). The fact that it's made by such a classic American guitar manufacturer as Martin is just...staggering. I mean, apart from anything, it just looks like it'd be so unbelievably uncomfortable to hold and play. A Martin D-45 it ain't!
